I've been in practice for 20+ years and I'm passionate about helping people move forward in their lives. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented. Together we can discover how to break your maladaptive patterns, build on your strengths, and begin your journey to heal. In my practice, you will find openness without judgement and an environment where you can heal the wounds that may be causing low self-esteem, relationship issues, problems at work; or depression and anxiety. Together we can create the changes you want in your life.

I assist individuals & couples in learning to address their inner life through an approach that helps work with "unfinished family business" from childhood that shows up today as unstable/conflictual relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. I bring over 21 years of experience working with individuals of various self-identities who seek to address either short-term issues/conflicts or desire to work on a deeper level psychologically. I specialize in working with gays & lesbians, though my approach is ideal for all persons, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who seek a more authentic lived experience.

I think therapeutic relationships work best when there is a foundation of emotional safety. Upon this foundation many things are possible, including understanding ourselves and others with greater depth and clarity, tolerating discomfort for growth, and allowing for our natural ability to heal. There are many good reasons to come to therapy, including distress that doesn't have a good explanation (which is what anxiety and depression often are), the loss of a loved one or important relationship, the wish to thrive more, or feeling unable to address life's problems. Seeking help takes courage and hope; it's no easy task.

It is true that each psychotherapy has its own life. The unique personal qualities that you and I bring to the table necessarily become interwoven to build a rich, trusting relationship. Together, we will go towards the underlying meaning of your symptoms. I have learned that many "symptoms" are actually inroads to the hidden away, injured, vulnerable parts of self that are waiting for an environment where there are resources for repair, healing, and growth. I am constantly surprised by the human potential to grow and I strive to provide an environment that gives life to the healing process.

Do you feel like you aren't operating at your full potential? Do you experience thoughts and feelings that interfere with your life balance? Although there are many reasons one seeks therapy, it is often our desire to feel connection, contentment and happiness. We all have unique stories that have shaped us. I would like to work with you to discover all that has led you to your current situation. To guide and assist you in a journey that will allow you to operate from a place of acceptance, compassion, and understanding for self and others.

It is human to struggle, to feel at times we have lost our way. To feel sad, stuck, angry, or afraid. Life can be hard and achingly beautiful. It is rich with complexity and it is sacred. We all need support in navigating life’s challenges and in slowing down. To take the time to be with the tender parts of ourselves that are longing for love and care. In a culture that privileges constant doing and achievement, it can be empowering and healing to cultivate a sense of inherent worth and value. To take time to play and create and to feel into experiences of wonder and awe, to truly enjoy the pleasures of being alive.

Even though you know you love your partner, you’ve started to wonder if you still like them. I’m trained in the Gottman Method and want to help you find your way back to each other. Sometimes the pressures of everyday life can push you into opposite corners making your partner seem like your opponent. I want to help you improve your communication, empathy, emotional and intimate connection. My goal is for you to feel like you are on the same team again, working towards the same goals and liking each other in the process.

If obsessions and compulsions are getting in the way of you living your life fully, I'm so glad you're here, and I would be honored to support you. Living with OCD can make it challenging to show up in your relationships, to do your job, and to show up in life. I use evidence-based treatments, including Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help my clients change their relationships with their thoughts and unwanted compulsions so they can get back to life.

Infertility is a journey that no one signed up for. For those who want children, it’s simply devastating to be unable to expand your family as planned, while others around you move forward with their lives. Yet 1 in 8 couples experience infertility and many others experience barriers—systemic, financial, and biological—to pursuing their family-building dreams. In my practice, I focus on issues related to fertility (delayed parenthood, egg-freezing, pregnancy loss, donor-conception, surrogacy, IVF, and other forms of family-building). I understand the intense stress these issues can place on your relationships and mental health.

Many of us haven't had much experience with the kind of truly supportive relationships that make healing possible. A good therapeutic relationship - one that allows us to be fully ourselves while recognizing our unique potential - creates the optimal conditions for healing. I provide a place where you can feel safe to explore your most difficult feelings, to work through grief and loss, heal childhood wounds, relieve depression and anxiety, improve communication, increase self-esteem and develop more satisfying relationships. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, and I'm available for both in-person and virtual sessions.

Seeking therapy for many can be a challenging step to take. This is why I believe in providing a safe space, free of any judgement, which is essential when building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I am here to serve as your guide towards self-discovery and self-reflection. Often, distorted thoughts lead to maladaptive behaviors, which in turn can impact the way you view yourself, perceives others, and/or view the world. Therapy can help with learning new skills and techniques that can assist you with breaking these patterns. Discovering your own voice will help you feel empowered.

I know these profiles can be a lot to take in, so before you skip to the next one, or just carry on living your life, can I leave you with this one thing? I wouldn’t claim to know a thing about you, your life, or what you've been through, but my firm belief, backed by science, is that despite what you might have learned or been told; you are not broken. Quite the opposite in fact... Still here? OK, I'll be quick!

It is important to me to empower and validate experience within the world. Working from an intersectional lens will allow us to explore societal expectations and cultural norms in relation to identity and mental health. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most pivotal contributors to transformation and healing, which is why it is crucial for you to feel seen and supported while addressing challenging emotions. Of course, that is a large part of this work, but I find just as much value in connecting over levity and humor.
