Men & couples who feel disconnected, let me help you reconnect! I bear witness to your struggles, & while this may seem unconventional in the healing field, it is the sacred essence of what I do. To the man navigating emotional isolation & feeling the pressure to fit into society's mold—which wears you down & pulls you away from your true self—I am here for you. To the couple feeling the weight of life's trials on your relationship, where warmth & closeness have faded into a cold distance—I see you. Within your struggles, something greater seeks to emerge. I am here to create a space where that deeper wisdom can rise.

I specialize in relationship issues pertaining to Infidelity; Youth (most often impacted by familial stressors) and Communication, which correlates and can manifest as obsessive thoughts, anxiety, depression and related addictions. Infidelity is a symptom of underlying issues. Trained in EMDR to identify and manage trauma, I became a therapist due to personal experience in dealing with affairs. I understand the emotional roller coaster infidelity creates. Emotional education and processing is important to understanding why you are experiencing the emotions you are dealing with.

Life is tough. But I sincerely believe that if another individual can take the time to truly listen, attempt to understand, and grasp what you’re going through, it can make the journey worthwhile. I am a wounded healer. I understand and empathize with how hard it is to begin your healing journey. I believe that having a safe space to share alongside feeling understood are vital to one’s healing journey. I would feel privileged to embark upon that journey with you and I will seek to help you experience and discover hope and beauty in the midst of it.

Sometimes it’s a lack of belief in ourselves, or our childhood wounds getting the better of us. Sometimes it’s the stories that we tell ourselves about who we are and what we deserve. More often than not, what holds us back is a fear of change, of the unknown, and of asking for help. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that genuine human connection, empathy, and a little bit of laughter have the potential to transform any situation. I work side-by-side with my clients to build trusting and collaborative relationships. Think of me as your team-mate, cheering you on, and guiding you to uncover what holds you back.

Seeking help is a sign of inner strength. Perhaps things don’t seem to go the way you wanted in your personal, family, and/or professional life. You might be hitting a wall in your relationships, missing out on promotions, or feeling a sense of emptiness despite your accomplishments and accolades. You might feel stuck and lonely, your usual ways of managing life no longer serve you well. You might wonder “What is wrong with me?” “Something is missing in my life” "I am just not good enough." I hope that through our therapeutic collaboration, you would start to explore the question of “What happened to me?"

Are you at a crossroads? Throughout life, we experience "little deaths" that change our life’s course. Loss of a dream, health, family, the earth we stand on, job, marriage, relationship, country or beliefs can suddenly take us over a threshold, chosen or not into a new world where life no longer makes any sense. Our old tools and ways of coping or understanding our self or our world are no longer enough to pilot us to the other side of what can feel like a vast, deep and turbulent river. While often terrifying, these are the golden opportunities in which our true nature, our soul or purpose in life can be revealed.

Emotionally Focused Therapists

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
