I provide treatment for individuals and couples for all aspects of relationship challenges.
Are you ready to experience trust, intimacy, and love again? When these areas are compromised in any relationship, the health and vitality of that partnership suffers. When that relational damage is a result of infidelity, porn, affairs, on-line chats, or hook-ups, often, neither the partner nor the addict know where to turn for help. As a Certified Sexual Recovery Therapist, I am committed to providing a lifeline for both individuals and couples so that authentic communication and integrity can be restored.

My style: Engaged and interactive. Capacity for empathy: Substantial. Methodology is always matched to individual, couple and family needs.

Even the healthiest of individuals, couples, and families come across challenges that invite confusion, and overwhelm and even despair. Getting support during difficult times can be helpful in allowing you to move more confidently in your preferred direction. I understand that it takes courage to seek counseling and psychotherapy, especially when it comes to your personal life situations. However, I want to reassure you that I hold confidentiality with the uppermost respect. I hope to offer you compassion and a safe and kind environment to review and step up to the challenges you face.

I have received additional training and experience working with clients who have the following issues: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Drugs and Alcohol Addiction; Domestic Violence; Sexual Abuse; and Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
Welcome. If you are feeling lost, struggling, overwhelmed or currently facing a painfully difficult time, I can help. Experiencing emotional pain and struggling with life issues are part of the process of living. Yet, when we find ourselves stuck in patterns, situations, or relationships that continue to be painful, we ask “Why can’t things be better?” or “What is wrong with me?” and eventually “Can I ever feel happy?” Often these are the issues that propel us to seek therapy. Emotional pain can show up as anger, fear, grief, confusion, anxiety, exhaustion, procrastination, etc. I believe, for change to occur, safety, empathy and respect are essential. I have come to experience an increasing sense of sacredness about our work together. It often takes courage to walk through the therapist’s door for the first time. As healing begins, I am reminded of the resiliency and courage of the human spirit.

I work with straight and LGBTQ+ adult individuals and couples with a wide array of sexual problems like sexual dysfunctions, low libido, infrequent sexual activity, and betrayals of various kinds.
Sexual issues can - and do - happen to anyone at any age. Perhaps there is an aspect of your sexuality that is confusing to you. Perhaps you struggle to experience the pleasure of sexuality and eroticism. Perhaps you or your partner have a sexual dysfunction like painful intercourse or erectile dysfunction. Perhaps you are in a low sex/no sex relationship. Or perhaps you're reeling from learning of your partner's betrayal. In our shame-based culture, these are difficult issues to talk about. I am here to help. After all, everyone has the right to a healthy and satisfying sex life.

Have had great success with parents, single parents, couples and youth.
In life we often experience once beautiful relationships that have become strained or distant leaving us feeling depressed, anxious, ineffective or alone. Old anger, boundary issues, financial stress, or pain of loss can leave you at odds with friends, co-workers or the family members you love. As a parent you may feel guilty or overwhelmed as you watch your children struggle with academics, disadvantages, peer relationships or self-esteem. Perhaps you are that child or teen feeling pulled down by the expectations of teachers or parents, divorce, social isolation, the legal system or the complexities of an intimate relationship.

For over 30 years I have worked with individuals and couples struggling with anxiety - that underlying sense of unease, depression or loss of meaning, self esteem, relationship concerns, substance abuse, grief and loss, and issues of spirituality.
I welcome whatever you bring and offer an open compassionate space to explore those parts of yourself wanting attention. Through focused inquiry, you will gain a deeper sense of understanding and acceptance.

Healing is more about the relationship between the client and the therapist than the technique or modality; we're pack animals after all!.
I have a warm, collaborative, relational and empowering style. At times we look at what holds you back, and at times we look at the evolving being who is struggling to emerge. Both polarities have something to offer when properly accessed and integrated. Since wounding frequently happens in relationship, healing may best be facilitated in relationship with someone who is accepting all of who you are. Trauma requires a safe and inviting space to move into, and needs delicate handling. I help couples find a way to communicate that makes it safer for both to come forward vulnerably.

As your therapist, I want to help you create the awesome life you deserve! Finding the right therapist can be so difficult. And if you're someone who doesn't fit into a tidy identity box - whether that's about your inner nature, gender, sexuality, relationship style or anything else that people sometimes don't get - it can be even more challenging. Working together, we can establish a safe space, to deeply explore and affirm your unique identity and expression. We'll focus on your strengths and support you in finding clarity to live the authentic life you want.

I work with couples to help decrease conflict and create more loving, satisfying relationships.
Do you sense a "real" you inside that yearns to be fully known? Are you too often in emotional pain, but not sure what to do? We all have times when we feel stuck and just can't get out alone. I will bring years of experience, the best of my professional training, and a warm, engaged, insightful, presence to our work together. You will feel supported and safe as together we explore and loosen the old patterns that have caught you. I can help you discover the satisfying, vibrant life that you've always sensed is possible.

I want to support the relationship with yourself so that you can build healthy happy relationships, as well as let go of the comparisons that are causing you so much pain.
Normal. What a trippy, pejorative word. And you’re almost fixated on it. Is what you are doing normal? Are your feelings normal? You just don’t feel normal. Fitting into the box of what everyone else is doing doesn’t feel good, but neither does being where you’re at. You as you are does not look like what you see everyone else doing/being. The constant comparisons are so painful, and you just can’t stop them. Something has to be fixed, but you are just not sure what or how. The suffering is becoming too much…

I always begin with careful listening to your needs. Our relationship, and your understanding of yourself, are the keystones. These are much more important than the labels which have been placed on your problem. You may have already received "good advice" from friends and family. A trained and caring professional can help move you beyond the cycles you are stuck in. This is true whether you are seeking couple's counseling or individual therapy. My primary therapeutic perspective is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which is not about external family, but rather your internal family of parts.

As a passionate advocate for individuals and couples, I also love to explore group processes and systems.
Not accepting new clients at this time. You do not have to go it alone! Finding the right person to walk beside you during these extraordinary times can provide a deep sense of connection and guidance. I have a wealth of experience working with grief and loss, trauma, and transitions across the life span, including birth and parenting through end-of-life issues. My approach is warm and compassionate as I draw from vast learned modalities. I integrate mindfulness, trauma-informed care, somatics, and a curiosity to create a unique and effective therapeutic experience.

I offer guidance and support to break free of harsh reoccurring experiences. If you suffer from couple's conflict, anxiety, depression, anger management or are experiencing life's transitions, you may think that you are lost in a hopeless battle against your own thoughts and feelings and are blocked from living your life fully. Fortunately, the more you learn about the commonalities behind these uncomfortable experiences, the more you will come to understand that there are ways to control your thoughts and relieve the emotional and physical effects.

In the current times, with some much going on and so much to think about, we might need to unload and process. I would like to make myself available to individuals who are facing an overwhelm of emotions, thoughts, of feelings, with the hope of helping them find resources to cope and succeed. I like to work with individuals who recognize that their lives could be better if something were different. My approach allows for time-limited therapy. On session 1, I discuss with my clients the length of time that they might have available to offer to the therapeutic process, short and long term goals that they would like to achieve.
