My practice has evolved to working with teen issues, men's issues, building/maintaining relationships, and anxiety/depression symptoms.
Hello, I am Greg Ragle, LMFT. I believe in positive psychology and focus on what is going well for the client. What are the exception moments for the client. What is working we do more of, what is not working is where more solutions will come forward in the work together. Together we can identify protective factors and strengths to build upon. We can use myth, personal narrative, mindfulness, and somatic exercises to address mind, body, and soul. You may be nervous seeking therapy, but you deserve a guide in your healing journey. Let’s work together to walk the path.

Are you concerned about your teenager's excessive stress, argumentative behavior at home, or declining grades? Adolescence is a stressful period as the developmental changes that occur during this time affect almost every area of a teenager's functioning (e.g. relationships with others, risk-taking behavior, sense of identity). However, these changes often lead to great distress on the teenager and their families. Psychotherapy can be a great tool for your child to work through his or her conflicts as they make the difficult transition into adulthood.

I taught doctorate level courses at Biola University, including Marriage & Family Therapy, Child & Adolescent Therapy, Multicultural Issues, Group Therapy, and Family Pathology.
I am committed to the optimal development of individuals through an increased understanding of themselves and others. I have a sincere appreciation for the strengths and uniqueness of the people I work with, as well as an appreciation for cultural diversity. The therapeutic relationship is an experience that promotes an increased propensity toward self-awareness and change in behavior, allowing individuals and couples to discard maladaptive behaviors that no longer serve them. My goal is to provide an environment of empathy, genuineness and respect where profound issues can be examined and transformation can occur.

I love working with children and adolescents. Before I get a history from you, I like to meet with your teenager to let them feel like they have a choice in picking their therapist. This gives them a sense of control and they are then more committed to the therapy. I will integrate the family as necessary. I have extensive success with children of divorce, those experiencing anxiety, depression, low self esteem and difficulty managing anger. I also connect well with adults and young adults dealing with life transitions.

Life is a journey that may be pleasant and joyful at times, but can also get tricky with various challenges and obstacles no matter what age or stage of life you are in. So... what happens when things aren't so exciting anymore and you feel weighed down by feelings of sadness, anxiety, anger, frustration, or all of the above? Whether you are an individual going through a heartbreak, a couple working through communication struggles, a teenager struggling to manage your academic and family stressors, or a parent doing your best to care for your children, yet is feeling spread too thin.

In recognition of the evolution of technology, I provide telehealth services to ensure that every child and teenager can access the support they need.
My name is Katherine Rodriguez and I'm a bilingual Marriage and Family Therapist living in Solano County and provide telehealth services to children and teenagers. Therapy can be an intimidating process, so for me it's important for telehealth sessions to feel comfortable as if we were in person. Helping the younger generation navigate the challenges they face is what the foundation of my practice is all about. It is truly important to me that my clients feel seen and heard.

Hello, I am Sheila Smith; I've been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2000. I genuinely enjoy listening to people's experiences. I learn so much from my clients. I can work with just about anyone, but I especially like young people and the elderly population. My approach to therapy may appear casual, and I hope my clients feel relaxed and comfortable when we're together. I will work with my clients to figure out what will work best for them. I am direct but gentle. I listen much more than I speak in sessions. I work at understanding their lives from their point of view. My clients feel safe and heard with me.

Life is full of ups and downs and we can all use some help navigating the trials we face. I'm passionate about helping people to work through whatever challenges they are facing. I've worked with clients facing depression, anxiety, and a host of other issues. Additionally, I practice from a trauma-informed perspective as I believe its incredibly important to acknowledge the life changing events that have shaped who we are as humans.

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
