I’m an EMDR and Ketamine Assisted psychotherapist, with 10 years of experience as a trauma therapist.
I’ve helped hundreds of clients who struggle with self-worth as a result of complex PTSD as well as working with clients to increase feelings of safety after a traumatic experience.    I believe that each of my clients deserve a life filled with endless possibilities, but have found that my clients are often blocked in experiencing meaningful lives due to unprocessed trauma. It has nothing to do with whether someone deserves good things at all, but rather the lack of safety that comes up for my PTSD clients that prevents them from fully experiencing a more meaningful life.

EMDR not only treats trauma, it addresses a cluster of symptoms, including depression, chronic pain, anxiety, and addiction, to name only a few.
I work primarily with adults and teens, either individually or in family sessions. Most recently, I've focused on addiction treatment , trauma and the issues underlying addiction--depression, anxiety and poor communication patterns. I use EMDR to treat trauma-related disorders, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction. EMDR in combination with mindfulness practices provides relief for past trauma in a relatively short number of sessions.

I integrate revolutionary EMDR/ Attachment Informed EMDR and Mindfulness techniques with supportive talk therapy.
Is your mind hi-jacked by constant chatter? Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions? Are you having a hard time sleeping at night or focusing on work/studying or other important people or matters? Do you have a hard time setting healthy boundaries or are you struggling with impulsive or compulsive behaviors? Sometimes life can seem overwhelming and make us feel stuck and unable to move at all which can lead to destructive behaviours or isolation.

I want to warmly welcome you to this process of finding a therapist. If you are looking to face and challenge areas of your life that are no longer working or need support navigating a major life change I would love to help. I have had the privilege of seeing people begin to face loss, grief, trauma and aspects of their history they have long buried, identify how it’s influencing their present circumstances and limiting future goals. I have seen people begin to express what they want, arrest addictive and compulsive behaviors and take their lives back. I look forward to the possibility of moving forward together!

Seeking therapy and exploring your mental health needs can sometimes be a daunting decision. Feeling ambivalent toward therapy is common; To minimize any uncertainty one might feel, I incorporate Strength-Based and Recovery Oriented therapeutic interventions. As adults, many of us experience some form of anxiety, panic or feelings of hopelessness when navigating our day to day routine and/or interpersonal relationships. I emulate your personal goals and incorporate them into our therapeutic relationship to develop and formulate coping skills that are best suited to minimize the identified stressors.

As we travel this journey of life, sometimes the way to health and wholeness is not too clear. During these times, it's helpful to have a partner to walk with you. I have been in practice for nearly twenty years, helping individuals, families, couples and groups facing a wide variety of challenges. I treat individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, job-related issues, grief, and religious trauma. I have advanced training in the treatment of trauma, both single incident and long-term.

"The wound is the place where the Light enters you." -Rumi I tend to work with highly sensitive people, creatives, healers of all kinds, empaths, spiritual seekers, trauma survivors, people in recovery from addictions and alcoholic families. I can help with anxiety, depression, inner critics, shame, relationship troubles, people pleasing, anger, rage, control issues, chronic pain, somatic issues and PTSD. I love trauma work because it gets to the root of many issues that bring folks to therapy. Do you feel overwhelmed? Is it hard to find your voice? Feeling bad about yourself? EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
