I don't have an ideal client. I want to met people where they are at. If you've never had therapy before, it’s important to be aware we don’t start talking about the hard stuff. It can take 2-3 sessions for someone to feel comfortable enough to tell another person what they are struggling with. Therapists cannot read minds, but have studied human patterns of thoughts, feelings & actions. No one can truly know the exact consequences a person has experienced in their life. Regardless of the reason why someone is seeking therapy, there is no judgment, no criticism…just acceptance. People can heal & grow in this type of environment.

Worry, stress, and poor sleep have become all too familiar. Maybe a sense of hopelessness, helplessness or just feeling stuck are common thoughts. You may be in a marriage or relationship that has become increasingly more difficult, more conflicted, less loving and passionate, and you are wondering if you should stay, go, or if anything can change. You’ve set goals, you’ve given yourself pep talks, you’ve promised yourself you’ll change, but it’s not working. Usually, you can snap out of it, but this feels different. Often these challenges feel all consuming, and having a trusted and qualified person walk alongside you is helpful.

Heidi's clients include men, women, and adolescents who are struggling with difficult transitions, trauma, childhood abuse and/or emotional neglect, or substance abuse. Many clients express loneliness or disconnection in their relationships and describe patterns of behavior that reoccur despite trying to change. These patterns are more noticeable in close relationships but may show up at work or school. Already knowing these patterns, clients may struggle to control their behaviors, manage feelings, communicate effectively, and feel tremendous shame and difficulty around setting boundaries and connecting with others

It's hard to be a human sometimes, isn't it? Trauma, stress, anxiety, grief, and pain can overshadow the joy and peace our hearts and minds long for. We may find we are not living the life we truly desire, or we may wonder how we will ever find our way back to ourselves. I'm no stranger to life’s challenges but wholeheartedly believe it is still possible to find hope and healing even in our most difficult seasons. My passion is to companion with clients as they learn new skills, develop resilience, reclaim wholeness, and pursue a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
