I provide trauma-informed therapy grounded in principles of relational attachment, existential psychotherapy, feminist multicultural psychotherapy, and harm reduction.
Hello there. I help clients build safety in their lives so they can embrace all parts of their self. I support adults who are working through shame, guilt, low self-compassion, and generally struggling to accept themselves. I work well with clients who are curious about improving boundaries, who have experienced past harmful family dynamics, and who are coming to terms with new diagnoses or life transitions.

The therapy I provide focuses on deep analysis of trauma, anxiety, depression, and somatization symptoms, including psychodynamic analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), multicultural therapy, feminist therapy, postmodern and deconstructionist methods, and healing intertwined with Christian culture.
Here, you don’t have to face life’s challenges and uncertainties alone. Together, we’ll explore the roots of interpersonal, marital, and parenting issues, gradually uncovering your authentic self—clarifying which traits, beliefs, thought patterns, and behaviors have formed unconsciously over time. If you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, or somatic symptoms, I warmly invite you to begin this journey of self-exploration. My approach delves into the core of trauma, helping you identify and gently deconstruct beliefs and fears you may not yet fully recognize. I’m here to support you in building genuine self-awareness.

Welcome! You’re here because you’re ready to explore what’s next and find a more authentic, satisfying way forward. As a high-achieving professional, you may feel a longing for deeper meaning and balance despite reaching impressive financial goals. As a driven individual, there may be a nagging sense of untapped potential. Perhaps you’re navigating cross-cultural transitions, relational challenges, or a career path that no longer feels rewarding. Balancing family with career ambitions or stepping into new leadership roles can also feel overwhelming.

Relationships and the Quality of your Life will not just improve on their own. People continue doing the same things and, interestingly, expect different results. Just look around and see how many people are really unhappy in their lives, have given up on their dreams, and have settled for a routine day by day existence. You need effective solutions that are actually DIFFERENT than anything you have ever tried. For about 19 years, I have successfully helped hundreds of my consultees to improve the quality of their lives and relationships, achieve their goals and happily live their Dream Lives.

I specialize in sex therapy, which means that I enjoy working with individuals and people in relationships who may be struggling with any sex-related issues. The types of issues that people tend to see me for include sexual dysfunctions (like problems with orgasm, erection, or sexual pain), intimate relationship concerns, sexual orientation or gender identity, and sexual trauma. I also see folks who are dealing with other issues, such as anxiety or depression. Some of the people I work with have a very specific goal for treatment, while others need more ongoing treatment for deeper, more lifelong concerns.

Finding a therapist is such a leap of faith. It is one of life's challenges that at a time when you might feel the most vulnerable, you also have the least information about whether someone can help! I'm told I'm good person to talk to if something is bothering you and you want to figure it out. I try to support that inner flame of resistance and kindness toward yourself in the face of all the challenges. I am one of the founders of the Health at Every Size (HAES) and Body Positive movements. May you find a good match!

Hey there! I'm Ravina Wadhwani, licensed therapist (LPCC), survivor, and published poet. I'm a first-generation, proud South Asian woman-identifying therapist, who believes that therapy can be a safe space to heal from the unspeakable things that make us feel disconnected from ourselves, far from our purpose, and that have somehow managed to remove us from the track we wish to be on. We weren't designed to heal in isolation. I offer a brave space that is centered on you, as a whole person. I use a person-centered, compassionate approach that emphasizes your needs, goals, and the things that work best for you.

"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination" - Carl Rogers. As a therapist, I believe in helping clients find (or rediscover) their direction in living the life that best suits them. I also believe that one of the most important factors in therapy is the goodness of "fit" between therapist and client. Through the therapeutic process, I work towards helping clients learn insights about their life, which in turn help them to make better choices and find more overall satisfaction in their life.

My approach to therapy is to help men foster a safe, caring therapeutic relationship to help them thrive. I bring compassion and empathy from my own recovery to support healing and growth. Before becoming an LCSW, I worked in media, and living in the Bay Area and New York City provides me an understanding of the stressors working people encounter when trying to find balance in frenetic and competitive environments. My style is active and I will collaborate with you to tap into your identity, strengths, values, and interests in our work together to help you achieve your goals.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
