Most of my experience has been in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, behavioral/conduct issues, adjustment and transitional-related concerns, relational issues, domestic violence, foster care/adoption, and at-risk youth.
Hi, my name is Jayme Parvaresh, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe growth and healing can begin in a safe, nurturing, and trusting space. I use a client-centered/humanistic approach to therapy and prioritize connecting with my clients. Other approaches I find helpful and use throughout the course of treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), strength-based, solution-focused, and teleplay therapy.

Therapy can be FUN, Exciting, and Healing (with hopefully some GOOD belly LAUGHS). I get back to everyone within 1-8 hours. You're hesitant since it's your first time in therapy. You feel empty, hopeless, and isolated. Every day is a struggle due to anxiety and depression. You have family trauma and cultural expectations that have left you shackled. I understand as I have dealt with those same issues too! I help people dealing with depression and anxiety by exploring other possibilities to cope and giving a safe space to fully express themselves honestly and authentically while gaining a sense of individuality.

I work with individuals and couples who feel disoriented, trapped, and need help walking forward. Pain comes in many different forms such as trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, fear, low self-esteem, discrimination, betrayal, anger, or just feeling lost. This pain can be like quicksand, constantly trapping you no matter what you do. My specialty is working with people whose pain is made more complex by intersecting identities (Religion/Spirituality, Culture/Race/Ethnicity, LGBTQ+, immigration). In addition, I have specializations in working with, multiracial people, emerging adults, men, and helping professionals.

I work with folks in the intersection of being neurodivergent, BIPOC, and queer to navigate the oppressive structures that prevent us from expressing ourselves authentically. Together we can process intergenerational trauma to truly meet your needs. My areas of focus include conscious parenting, eating disorders, and postpartum/perinatal mental health. In our therapeutic relationship, genuine, empathetic care and connection come first. I understand that healing is not only individual but also systemic.

I am here for you. As we walk through life, we often carry a load of complex feelings and unresolved baggage on our shoulders. Sometimes, the weight of it all can be unbearable. This makes life harder than it has to be, especially when we are already trying to do our best with what we find in ourselves. As a therapist, I believe that a relationship with an attentive, caring, and nonjudgmental person can provide security and strength to explore our inner processes that sometimes seem stuck and unclear. Therapy will be a safe place to practice shedding light on the parts that you'd like more understanding, healing, growth, and change.

Hi there! I'm Jasmin, and I'm a 2nd-gen Asian American therapist based in SoCal. I primarily work with teens, college students, and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship conflicts, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies. Due to my background in ADHD coaching, I also work with many clients with ADHD who are experiencing burnout or low motivation in their academic and/or professional lives by offering them practical tools to help reduce the overwhelming stresses, while also helping them develop a routine that realistically allows for and prioritizes self care.

I believe everyone's feelings, personal history, strengths, and struggles are unique. At the same time, we are all a part of the connected, human story. But sometimes we can feel alone in our suffering, or even when we try and achieve positive goals. I work with adults, couples, and families by using my diverse training in a way that fits their particular styles and needs. Through relational connection, collaborating on concrete coping skills, and exploration of current and past patterns, I have seen tremendous healing in my partnership with clients.

Life can be challenging and complex. At times we are faced with situations that feel overwhelming and seemingly insurmountable. Trauma can result in a loss of a sense of self and hopelessness. Engaging in therapy is a personal decision; one that requires commitment and hard work to attain life changes. I believe therapy tailored to meet individual needs can facilitate increased self-awareness leading to emotional, as well as, relational attunement and enhancement. I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, offering sensitivity to experiences of marginalization, ableism, discrimination, racism, or other 'isms encountered.

I am a clinical psychologist with extensive background in both psychotherapy and assessment. Many of the clients I have worked with in psychotherapy have backgrounds of abuse and trauma, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, relationship breakdowns, and/or adjustment difficulties to career and life transitions. relational conflict, loss, work stress, identity/self esteem) and distress (worry, depression, stuckness), while also helping you identify patterns, that may be longstanding and you have found difficult to change.
Experiences shape and form us in significant ways. We may be left with unresolved pain, feeling stuck, and with symptoms we cannot explain, such as depression, anxiety, bodily discomfort, etc. I would like to help you get unstuck and support you in living life more fully. Research in the areas of attachment/ neurobiology support making meaning of what has happened to us and the importance of doing so in a safe relational experience, such as therapy. In my training and professional work, I have come to believe that trauma and wounding experiences can take many forms, and also that healing and relief are possible.

I offer culturally sensitive and affirming relational psychoanalytic therapy.
Seeking help is a sign of inner strength. Perhaps things don’t seem to go the way you wanted in your personal, family, and/or professional life. You might be hitting a wall in your relationships, missing out on promotions, or feeling a sense of emptiness despite your accomplishments and accolades. You might feel stuck and lonely, your usual ways of managing life no longer serve you well. You might wonder “What is wrong with me?” “Something is missing in my life” "I am just not good enough." I hope that through our therapeutic collaboration, you would start to explore the question of “What happened to me?"

I am a relational therapist with antiracist and intersectional feminist values.
Are you feeling stuck, burnt out, overwhelmed, or lost in life? Are you struggling to break harmful addictive/habitual patterns? Are you having difficulty navigating new conflicts in your family or relationship? Perhaps you are beginning to feel like something is wrong with you, or perhaps you have felt that way for a long time. I know how hard and painful it can feel to navigate these challenges alone. We humans are social creatures, built for connection, yet our sociocultural environment is increasingly isolating. It should be no wonder that more people are reporting feeling depressed and anxious.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
