Looking for a fresh perspective on mental health and support? As a neurodivergent, queer, and disabled therapist, I know what it is like to not see yourself in your therapist. I'm a therapist with ADHD- I'm going to understand the grief you feel when talking about your past and how different it would have been if the world was built with neurodiverse people in mind. I'm a therapist with chronic illness- I'll understand how flares, injustice, and medical trauma effects your brain and your inner world. This world was not made for us in mind, but my counseling space was. Welcome!

I have a particular passion for supporting LGBTQ+, Queer, and/or Trans folks, and in my work, I invite conversations around culture, identity, power, privilege, and oppression.
I work from a trauma-informed, relational, and client-centered lens. I integrate psychodynamic and attachment based theoretical approaches. I believe the relationship we build as client and therapist, as well as exploring your relationships outside of therapy, are important avenues for growth. You are the expert on your own life; I am here to listen to you and work collaboratively to empower your inherent strength and resilience. I use warmth, compassion, and humor to cultivate an affirming, non-judgemental, and trusting connection with my clients.

Hi, my name is Vanessa (she/they) I am an AMFT and Registered Art Therapist. I am of Zapotec heritage, raised on Tataviam lands, known today as the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Identities I hold are being queer, disabled, 1st gen, neurodiverse, and somewhere on the gender spectrum of being femme and beyond one gender. My commitment as an Anti-Imperialist/abolitionist therapist show up in the space in the ways I do not center tenants of white supremacy such as perfectionism, worship of written word, centrism/white comfort, and individualism. As a person of color, my lived experience has led me to center social justice in my work.

As a queer therapist, I also love working with other LGBTQIA+ folx.
Everything is easier when you feel confident that your partner is in your corner. Sharing the weight of your struggles and amplifying life's joys in what makes relationships worth all the work. Our greatest emotional wounds come from our relationships, and our romantic relationships hold the most healing capacity for not only our collective healing but our individual healing as well. If you're looking for better communication, repairing trust, or throwing out the rulebook and creating your own new paradigm, I'm here to help.

A big part of me, both as a therapist, and as an advocate, is working with the LGBTQIA+ community.
Are you able to look at yourself and your life story with compassion and kindness? Becoming your full, true self when you’ve been hurt, abused, abandoned, or told that who you are is fundamentally wrong can weigh heavily on your life and become a struggle. As a therapist, I've worked with clients dealing with trauma coming from sources like mistreatment, neglect, or abuse, often from early life experiences. My practice is also open for those who've faced religious adversities that have take them to places of isolation and fear. If you feel hopeless or hurt, maybe there's some digging to do, I offer a safe space for you to do so.

I believe that whom and how we love and express our gender deserves celebration, not just tolerance, and my approach is LGBTQIA+ and Poly/Kink Affirmative.
I believe that deep down we all make sense, and that while life can feel overwhelming and our problems too great to solve, real change is possible. My therapeutic process integrates strength-based modalities that are tailored to the unique needs of each client and centers on identifying our untapped sources of strength and resilience to break through doubt, shame and fear. With care and curiosity, we will begin the process of exploring and healing the often hidden wounds inflicted by our experiences, families and society. Working together, we can change old patterns of feeling and thinking in order to empower your authentic self.

I'm a queer and trauma informed CBT based therapist with an online practice across CA.
My ideal client is "high-functioning." Ever heard of high-functioning anxiety, depression, and PTSD? High-functioners tend to look like they have it all together from the outside, but there's an ongoing battle inside. Queer and Neurospicy (ADHD & Autism Spectrum) people, I'm talking to you too! Masking is the norm, and it is done by studying the world to act how they "should." Compartmentalizing and pushing feelings deep down to keep moving forward is how they've survived the tough stuff. Children who grew up worrying about upsetting their family or caring for their siblings often become self-abandoning adults.

I am a queer identifying therapist and I like to think of therapy as a big exploration that allows the feelings and emotions you are having to come in fully without judgement. And you gotta feel it to heal it. We get curious together about what is happening for you and explore. Once you become aware of unconscious patterns, you make them conscious. That awareness can help to create change and make a huge difference in your life. I am also a big proponent of self-compassion work and can't stress enough how important it is to give ourselves just as much kindness as we give our loved ones.
