With 15 years of experience and as a Certified Brainspotting Therapist, I can help you connect to your inner healing potential.
Is that painful experience or worry stuck on repeat in your mind? Maybe it was a scary incident, negative comment, embarrassing moment or even a sports injury. Or maybe you're nervous AF about college or grad school exams, public speaking, or playing in your game. Regardless, you're tired of it bothering you so much. And you're fed up with it preventing you from doing what you want to do. But you're ready to feel calm. You're ready to perform well without questioning your self-worth. And most of all, you want to reclaim joy, move forward with confidence and feel like yourself again. I want to help you get there.

Free yourself from what binds you. Resolve anxiety, past trauma, work or relationship stress. Raise your financial set point. A bit about my approach... 1) Mindfulness and Neuroscience. If you are caught in a negative story, I offer practices that engage the mind and body such as mindfulness, EMDR, Brainspotting and EFT. When we are stressed, we don’t think as clearly and can fall into habits of negative thoughts and emotions. Those habits leave a neurological imprint in the body. Changing your mind is only half of the solution. You have to retrain your nervous system as well and mind/body practices speed that process along.

I am a Certified Brainspotting practitioner, using this phenomenal technique to work through any of the above and more, combining neuroscience, somatic therapy, elements of EMDR and mindfulness.
I'm a Trauma therapist also specializing in attachment/relationships. I have a deep understanding of how our past affects our present and where patterns come from. Taking time to unpack them (getting to the "why?") is a crucial step to breaking free and living the life you want - something I know that you are truly capable of. If old unwanted patterns keep showing up, if you don't understand why you are doing things you're doing, if you're having relationship issues, wanting to get into a healthy relationship, or would like to be free of the anxiety that has held you back, I can help.

I use brainspotting, a technique developed out of EMDR, to help clients process trauma, difficult issues/symptoms and to get unstuck.
Struggling with relationships? Experiencing the many ways substance use can create pain, whether for you or someone you love? Are you living with a mental health condition that requires support? Identifying limiting beliefs and unhelpful behaviors is an essential step to living an emotionally stable life, whatever difficult crossroads you may be experiencing. Often, emotional recovery begins with healing long-buried childhood trauma. And I believe relief can sometimes happen as early as the first session. (Licensed in CA, TX and FL.)

I draw from various therapy modalities ranging from ACT to trauma-informed methods such as Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting that support deep emotional processing and rehabilitation of the nervous system.
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom - Anais Nin. You are feeling the internal push to make a change, and especially in areas of your life that no longer feel sustainable. You might identify as a people pleaser, often shrinking yourself and prioritizing others' needs over your own. You may long to cultivate a deep sense of self-connection and address longstanding emotional patterns at their source while releasing yourself from cycles of intergenerational trauma passed down through your lineage. You seek to live your life with authenticity, clarity, and intention.

I am Certified in Brainspotting.
The most important questions is: "What pain brought you here? What is the hardest issue for you to deal with?" The most important result of the first session is that you walk out feeling that I understand you and will be able to be your ally in working through your issues. In other words we need to like each other and you need to feel that I have the expertise to handle your problems and not judge you.

During our work together, I may use modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or brainspotting to help facilitate your healing and promote lasting change.
Are you grappling with anxiety, ocd, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, low mood, or life transitions? Do you understand your challenges intellectually but struggle to find emotional relief or make meaningful change? This can be a frustrating experience, leaving you feeling stuck in a cycle of awareness without the ability to take action. Together, we can compassionately explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, as well as the patterns or ways of coping that might accidentally contribute to suffering. From there, we will create a personalized treatment plan and then begin the healing process (my favorite part).

Brainspotting/EMDR trained, I approach therapy with a humanistic mindset, focused on developing insight to overcome the barriers that are preventing you from fully living life.
Opening up around the vulnerable and intimate details of our lives can be very uncomfortable. There is so much pressure to be “happy”, “better”, or “perfect”, while receiving messaging that being anything else is unacceptable. We are very adaptive yet often struggle to effectively get our needs met, so may engage in avoidance behaviors and withhold or internalize our feelings to try to prevent things from getting worse. You want to feel more like your true self and get more satisfaction out of your relationships. You need an unconditionally supportive, non-judgmental, creative, and humorous therapist who accepts you however you are.

I often use humor, empathy, honest conversations, brainspotting (a powerful trauma-informed technique) and body based work.
Even living in progressive California, being part of the LGBTQ+ community can be beautiful, exciting, challenging, and heartbreaking which makes finding a LGBTQ+ friendly therapist that much more important. You might be questioning your sexuality. You might wonder where you fit in. You might simultaneously love your queer life, but feel like an outsider from your biological family or the rest of the world. You might be mislabeled or misgendered by others and it’s painful to not be seen for who you are. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community might only be one part of who you are and it might not be why you’re coming to therapy at all.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
