I hold a PhD, have received years of somatic, psychological, group, and other psycho-physiological therapies, as well as have been working on myself daily for almost 40 years.
As a therapist/teacher I ask that my clients be willing to grow. Growth can look many ways, but always involves practice. The people who take what they learn in sesh, practice it with insight, vulnerality, openness, and some diligence, they get the brilliance, sometimes very trying, and grace of somatic and relational transformation.

My specialty is using somatic approaches "the felt sense" helping the client be in tune with the bodily processes especially when heavy emotions arise.
I am a MFT student trainee. My ideal client would be someone who is going through major life shifts that has created curiosity around their self identity and questions around their confidence in all aspects of life. Someone who struggles with anxiety and depression who does not feel as if they are "enough" and are having difficulties maintaining healthy relationships around them with a partner/s, friends, and family. Their goal would be to feel a sense of security within themselves exploring the stories and patterns that have led them to have these belief systems that are not supporting their best "Self".

In addition to talk therapy, I incorporate modalities such as journaling, art therapy, dance and movement, guided visualization and somatic therapies.
We are here to thrive, not just survive. As a licensed therapist, Shamanic practitioner and former bodyworker, I am here to help the soul searchers, truth seekers, and those on a quest to rediscover their authentic selves towards overall health and healing. I will support you on your journey to shed the layers of fear, shame, trauma and pain. I will help you on your spiritual or self healing journey, providing additional support as you encounter life's challenges. When the walls come down, and the truth of the authentic self begins to emerge, it may be difficult, but we will move through it together. We will identify triggers and blockages, and look into things such as unhealthy attachments, cognitive distortions (negative thoughts) and “less than healthy” belief systems. It doesn’t matter whether they came from trauma in childhood, abuse, unhealthy relationships, grief or loss, I am here to help. By identifying, processing, and releasing that which no longer serves you will allow the true healing to finally begin and set your feet on the path you were meant to walk.

I'll share contemplative, mindfulness, and somatic practices to support your therapeutic goals.
As a Black, queer clinician, I have witnessed the mental health challenges that can arise while existing in environments that do not affirm our identities. My practice is dedicated to uplifting the lives and experiences of historically marginalized communities, including Black and Indigenous People of Color and the LGBTQ+ community. My aim is to promote resilience, empowerment, and authenticity by cultivating an affirmative therapeutic relationship. We will utilize tools to help you gain insight into your life and relationships, and deepen your capacity to be present with distressing emotions.

Therapy is so much more than the act of talking and assessing the mind. Therapy is a limitless place to explore one’s own reality and how it relates to others, and the world. Therapy can be found in somatic expression, in various forms of art, in connection with nature, and in the healing of self, and relationship with others. As an environmentalist, practitioner of yoga, and dancer, I value both traditional and alternative forms of healing that focus on the utmost well-being of the client(s).

I primarily work in a somatic and relational way which means that I deal with what is happening in the moment in the nervous system between us.
I believe in all people’s innate capacity to heal. To me, all symptoms that we experience whether it be chronic pain, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc can be explained by trauma. Trauma does not have to be big events. Trauma can be if we are not attuned to emotionally as children or if our parents have their own unprocessed trauma—this sort of trauma often leads to deep seeded beliefs that we are unloveable and bad. Our healing comes from teaching our parts that we are loveable and accepted just as we are.

I use somatic and brain based experiential methods, such as AEDP, brainspotting, and the therapeutic reconsolidation process to help you finally let go of feelings, behaviors, and limiting beliefs that were developed from past experiences and I'll teach you CBT and DBT skills to cope with the things you can't change so you can stop suffering over them.
If you feel like you can't stop overthinking, doubting yourself, feeling anxious, or sad, or you're trying to move forward in life but for some reason past issues or patterns keep repeating and you don't know why, or you're in a transition or going through a tough time and not sure what to do or how to cope, I can help you get to the root of what's going on and learn how to cope with and/or change it so you can get unstuck, feel better, confident, and live the life you want.
