My name is Emily Morales, my preferred pronouns are (she/her/ella) I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I have been providing therapy for more than 10 years. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, the LGBTQIA2+ community, the neurodiverse community, chronic pain, chronic illness, post-partum, sex-positive therapist, diversity issues, trauma, crisis support, and community resourcing. I am fluent in Spanish and can provide therapy in Spanish.

I specialize in couples therapy and guide couples to strengthen communication, connection and intimacy. Many of my clients struggle with arguments, tension, or "feeling like roommates". Others face difficulties related to division of household duties, parenting, and sex. Some couples begin therapy for support with one partner's alcohol use, anxiety or depression. Many couples come to me in a state of crisis as they contemplate divorce or grapple with the pain of infidelity. I am well versed in helping couples come together to talk through the challenges they are facing, learn relationship skills, bond, heal and grow.

I'm here to help you figure out how to work sex and intimacy in your life, whatever your disability or blocks might be. Sex is everywhere around us, on social media, TV, movies, and your best friends bridal shower- but how to work with your limitations to get to it never is. I'm here to help you figure out the hows. I've had a life full of adventure and education. Intersectionality is my jam- let's figure out how all your bits come together to make you.

I'm a licensed psychologist, with over 20 years of experience specializing in relationship problems, sex addictions, obsessive thinking, anxiety, and depression. I have advanced training to help couples overcome infidelity, lost connection, frequent arguments, and sexual problems. I use mindfulness and experiential approaches that rewire the brain's ability to cope with impulses, anxiety, and make sense of grief. I help people transcend the difficulties preventing them from living peaceful, joy-filled life. My work with clients is highly collaborative and tuning into your strengths will be of central importance.

Taking the first step toward transformation is the hardest part, and you just did it! I use an integrative and holistic approach to help you pull out the weeds from the roots. I work from a foundation of attachment theory and I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I believe in the power of vulnerability and connection to ourselves and others. I am trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and also incorporate the body, yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and music all as tools to expand and explore what is happening in your life.

I believe the two major problem areas we face in life deal with our relationships and our coping; and the main factors influencing how we manage these issues relies on our attachment style, trauma history, and our emotional intelligence, or lack there-of. My job is to help unlock the unconscious- help bring awareness to these issues and how they may be negatively impacting your life and relationships. Essentially, my aim is to assist you in identifying and allowing yourself to express emotions, and learn to tolerate/manage anxiety and discomfort, rather than self-soothe in various, unsafe ways that are causing problems in your life.

I am neurodivergent myself, and I love exploring with couples how they can learn to communicate in ways that are affirming for each other's neurotype. Our neurotype (ADHD, Autism) affects the way we perceive the world, communicate, regulate our emotions, and the ways we express love. I am trained in couples therapy methods (such as the Gottman Method, EFT) and I work intentionally to make these methods neurodiversity affirming.
