We can provide individual, couples or family counseling with issues that include but are not limited to grief and loss, OCD depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, ADHD, adjustments/life transitions and relational issues.
Do you have anxiety or even panic daily? Are your compulsions becoming difficult to manage? Is your anger out of control? Is your sadness too much to bear? Cost is not always measured in dollars and cents, it is spent emotions or wasted energy or lost time; maybe it is time for help!

Do you feel stressed, insecure, or ashamed, constantly battling with intrusive thoughts or impulses that you may not even entirely believe, but still can't seem to let go of? If so, we might be a good match to explore potential therapy together.

My specialty is in treating Anxiety and OCD, conditions rooted in the fear of the unknown and the desire to control the environment.
Are you a perfectionist? Does life feel more reassuring when it's predictable and orderly? In a world filled with uncertainty, our brains naturally resist the unknown. If you have been struggling emotionally, feeling down, constantly on edge, increasingly fearful or irritable, reach out for help. Managing stress is easier with the right tools and support. Born and raised in Poland, I've called San Diego home since 2002. Along with BA and MSW degrees from SDSU, I bring over a decade of mental health expertise to the table.

For 10 years, I've enjoyed working with people overcome their anxiety and OCD (and Pure O) in all its forms.
How do you handle anxiety? Do you need support and have a hard time asking for help? We often isolate, hide our emotions, disappear into gaming, work, social media, substances, have destructive relationships, and often while putting others before ourselves. Holding in these stresses and trying to "fix it" alone can weigh on your mind, and it can come out in ways that make your life difficult and unenjoyable. I can provide a space where we focus on you, and we ask where are things challenging for you, and how can things be better?

Beginning therapy is generally a decision that has been contemplated and carefully considered for quite some time. It requires an incredible amount of courage to take that first step and face what is no longer working in your life. I specialize in the treatment of OCD, eating disorders, BFRBs, and anxiety disorders. In addition to individual therapy I offer IOP (intensive outpatient program) and wellness coaching programs to address issues related to food, body image, and care for physical health. I completed my BA in Psychology at Cal State University Northridge and my MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch Los Angeles.

Through targeted exposures to triggers, you’ll learn to navigate anxiety with compassion, rediscover your power, and break out of the constraints of anxiety and OCD.
You already checked to make sure your front door was locked, and now you’re going to check again. It’s always the same struggle; an intrusive idea takes root and refuses to let go. From there, it spirals out of control, multiplying into countless variations and scenarios. You know that logically it doesn’t make any sense, but you can’t help yourself. "What's wrong with me?" you keep wondering. You’re constantly trapped in a cycle of distressing thoughts, compelled to engage in repetitive behaviors or safety measures. It's a constant battle, and you long for a life free from the grip of these obsessions and compulsions.

There is no real ‘cure’ for being a human being. But in therapy, there can be support, exploration and development of skills that let us live a more meaningful and manageable life. Perspective of another, more objective person, can help. When you are in the movie, you can't watch it.

Dr. Lintin understands how stepping into your truth may be frightening. There is no right way to uncover emotions that may be blocking you from living a fulfilled life. Everyone has stories to tell, unique, inspiring, challenging and sometimes devastating. The shocking thing is that many people walk through life without ever sharing these life events and so often with trauma, the guilt and shame can stop you from telling anyone causing difficulties in your relationships with others in both personal and professional life.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
