GASLIGHTING; NARCISSIST ABUSE; EMOTIONAL ABUSE; MANIPULATION; HI-CONFLICT RELATIONSHIP: Often belittled, demeaned, and raged upon. You walk on eggshells & constantly need to watch what you say for fear your partner might blow up. You often feel confused & now distrust yourself; have trouble making decisions & feel like you lost yourself or don't know the person you used to be. Gaslighting is a form of psychological/emotional abuse where the abuser manipulates situations repeatedly to trick the victim into doubting his/her own memory, perception & sanity. You're accused of doing something that you know you didn't do or say.

I specialize in helping high-achieving professionals, both individuals and couples, cultivate greater self-awareness, clarity, and inner peace. While external success may be apparent, it often doesn't align with one's internal experience. Many individuals struggle with relationship issues, anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, depression, or constant striving, which can overshadow an otherwise fulfilling life. I provide a safe space for clients to explore their energy and the dynamics in their environment, unravel their innermost thoughts, address difficult emotions, and nurture self-awareness.

I work from a non-judgmental, client focused stance with interests in: Love and Relationship Issues, Addiction, Anger, Compulsive behaviors, Stagnation, and grieving.
I work with people who wish to change self-limiting beliefs and destructive behaviors. I'll assist them in becoming aware of triggers, habits and unexamined assumptions which keep them stuck in repetitive cycles. By developing insight and understanding, they're often empowered to make new choices that are more in harmony with who they are and what they truly want.

My clients feel accepted and not judged, but also know that I give feedback and perspective, not just support. I don't view my clients as "ill", "broken" or "dysfunctional", but rather as spiritual beings, challenged by life to grow in some way. I do 70 minute sessions, because I view counseling as a way to help you get on with your life - not as a way of life - and most of my clients move through the process fairly quickly. I have over 45 years of experience in general practice, with a particular specialty in relationship counseling - couples and families.

Are you unhappy in your primary relationship? Have you suffered the loss of a love? Are addictions (yours or your partners) hurting you and the people you love? Would you like to have a more fulfilling sexual relationship with your partner? I have been helping couples increase emotional and physical intimacy for over 20 years. I take a directive approach to helping couples communicate more effectively. Often they find this results in more frequent supportive and loving interactions. Therapy can help you become more empowered in all your relationships. This often results in being more productive at work as well.

My first job as a therapist is to listen and understand. Deep listening is a time honored tradition and fundamental to healing. I strive to create a safe and nurturing relationship with clients that is a source of comfort and inspiration. Clients inspire me too! I practice spiritually grounded psychotherapy. This means I see life's challenges as, fundamentally, opportunities to grow spiritually and as a whole person. To me, the process of healing is beautiful and miraculous, something that gives us glimpses of a benevolent force much greater than ourselves.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
