As an EMDR Certified Therapist, the goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
Life is exciting and beautiful. And, at the same time it can be painful and chaotic. There are parts of us who want to run away, who want to feel better, or just want to give up. Many of us have the pieces of our puzzle, but we may be looking for a missing piece, or cannot see the full picture. That is where my passion to come alongside you belongs. I enjoy looking at the pieces together with you, putting them into perspective, curiously looking for a missing piece, and finding the spot that “fits best” and feels right. My strategy is to collaborate with you because “you know you best.”

I have training in CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy.
Being a child or adolescent can be hard and comes with its own challenges. Raising a child and navigating all that comes along with it is no easy task either. Sometimes we run into difficult issues, high emotions and unforseen hurdles and need some guidance. I would be honored to help you through those tough times, develop goals, positive coping skills and build healthy relationships.

While completing top-of-the-line training at distinguished hospitals, I've worked with many individuals and families experiencing relationship difficulties, unresolved trauma, and other life challenges.
Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile. Whatever has brought you to this point in your search, counseling can help. I recognize that going to therapy can be challenging for some, so my goal is to make you feel at ease throughout the process. You might be seeking guidance, support, or simply a safe space to process your emotions. You can also be dealing with challenges that prevent you from feeling joyful, confident, or moving forward in your relationship or personal life. We can work together to find the core of your challenges, identify your strengths, and help you develop a sense of self.

I currently volunteer with West Coast Post Trauma Retreat.
Trauma changed everything. Now you feel isolated, lonely, and full of anxiety. It’s easy to feel like trauma has taken over, defining who you are. The stress, feelings of helplessness, and frustration that come along with feeling powerless have you questioning yourself constantly. I’m here to tell you - this doesn’t have to be your life. Trauma is a story about something that happened to you - it’s not who you are. Your story is unique to you, along with your experiences. When you’re supported with empathy and compassion, you can rediscover your resilience and courage, and reclaim the story that’s always been yours to write.

Areas that I specialize in include: trauma, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, self-harming behaviors, negative life patterns, relationship difficulties, adjusting to life changes, and difficulty with overwhelming emotions.
Are you feeling anxious, depressed, or stuck? Are symptoms of ADHD negatively impacting your life? Do you find it hard to make and maintain healthy relationships? Are you struggling to navigate life changes or process current or past trauma? If so, counseling is a fantastic option to help heal and move through these difficult experiences. I believe a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship is the most important catalyst for change in therapy. I strive to connect with people where they are in their lives, accept them as they are, and to support and gently challenge them to take steps towards where they would like to be.

I work with individuals who are navigating life's transitions, relationship issues, trauma recovery, work stress, depression, anxiety, grief, and aging.
Being compassionate with our self is important when we undertake personal change. Our internal critic and negative thoughts can leave us feeling defeated. When we're disconnected from our authentic self or from others, we suffer. Disconnection can result from many circumstances, for example living by other's expectations at the expense of pursuing our own goals. Or, the busy pace of life can leave people feeling disconnected and alienated. When we re-connect with our self and other people, we're more able to manage life's stressors using healthy means and live a more peaceful and contented life.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
