Do you struggle with anxiety, depression? Is it keeping you from doing the things that you love and functioning the way that you want to? Is it creeping up on you when you least expect? Or are life's struggles too hard to carry on your shoulders, too much to keep on going? At times, these issues are there and intended for us to process through, to overcome the challenges and know how to have coping skills and tools to battle them again in the future. Trauma is no different, and as it holds you back from doing the things you love, learn how to stop that cycle, and take control of it.

I focus on couples issues, marriage, breakups, anxiety, life transitions, spiritual/faith issues, women's issues, and helping you find a sense of meaning and purpose.
I am a person-centered therapist, so when you step into my "virtual office", there is one thing you can be certain of - you will know and feel that you belong. There are no dumb questions, your story is not too much, and there will never be anything to apologize for. This is a safe space to explore your identity and find support through trauma, grief, anxieties, fears, or relational issues.

I believe everyone has the ability to become stronger, even in the face of great challenges. As a therapist, I provide an open and affirming space for my clients to explore what makes them strong and resilient. In my practice, I seek to create a safe and warm environment to heal and create lasting change. I am a passionate listener and use empathy as a tool for helping my clients realize their true potential. While I often challenge my clients to delve deeply, I recognize that everyone has different needs and comes to therapy with unique circumstances.

We as human beings are impacted by the experiences of our lives even from before birth to present. Sometimes, some of these experiences are so destructive that make us feel trapped, without knowing what to do. In turn, these feelings negatively alter the way we relate to others and ourselves and produce symptoms of depression; anxiety; insecurity; panic attacks; and compulsive, controlling, aggressive or abusive behaviors. All these symptoms are defensive reactions and indicative that something, deep inside us is not well and that we need help.

I have a lot of experience in working with women who struggle with post-partum depression, and anxiety.
I believe it is such a privilege to be able to sit with people daily and hear their stories. As a therapist I work hard to create an environment where you can be real and honest about who you are and feel safe. I will listen, and validate, but I will also challenge you to grow. I find Joy in helping my clients to get clear about who they want to be and working with them to get there. We get there through a lot of self exploration and reflection. When we have a better understanding of why we do what we do, we will have more success in changing our negative patterns.

You are an intelligent person, and you are keenly aware of what is not working in your life. The stresses you are dealing with are overwhelming the the skills you have to cope with them. You need to learn new ways to manage these problems, and you probably need the confidence and encouragement to try something new. I know it's in you, and it's time to try something new.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
