Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, or the uncertainty brought on by the 2024 election, my goal is to support you in rediscovering strength, agency and cultivating self-compassion.
Feeling anxious, heartbroken, or overwhelmed by the November 2024 presidential election results? If you’re experiencing grief, fear, or uncertainty about the future, you’re not alone. The emotional impact of significant societal changes can trigger feelings of anxiety, loss, and trauma. Do you feel numb, in shock, anger, rage, and maybe even overwhelmed by deep sadness and despair? I understand how these collective and personal experiences can leave you feeling stuck, isolated, and unsure of your next step. Many experience these intense emotions and my hope is to create space for supporting and processing these surreal feelings.

I believe strongly in the transformative power of creative expression, authentic connection, and humor, and I feel honored to accompany clients on their journey of finding new wholeness after loss and leading a more fulfilling and authentic life.
Grief is excruciating, disorienting, confusing, and isolating. And no, you’re not doing it wrong. Your grief is as unique and individual as you are. But you don’t have to walk through it alone. I work with kids, adults, couples, and families who are navigating grief & loss, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, and disconnection from their life’s purpose and direction. My grief story has equipped me to work with those experiencing suicide bereavement, and my nearly two decades of experience in the music and entertainment industries provide rich insight & understanding into my work with artists and creative professionals.

I specialize in issues related to grief and loss, living with chronic or life-limiting illness, caregiving, depression, anxiety, and the daily stress or challenges encountered as people progress through key life transitions.
In times of personal crisis, it is natural to feel overwhelmed, alone, and disconnected from friends, family, and even yourself. When your usual strategies for "snapping out of it" are no longer working, you may feel stuck, irritable, fatigued, or generally disinterested in activities that would normally bring pleasure or meaning to your life. Ironically, it is often during your most vulnerable times that you also have the greatest capacity for healing and renewal. I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity for positive change - even in the darkest of times.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
