Now I support those who are struggling with the physical, emotional, social, relational, and financial struggles that infertility can create in one’s life. This uncertain season can be all consuming and life-altering for an individual or couple. Allow me to walk with you during your family building journey.

I provide individual therapy for a range of issues including life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and maternal and reproductive mental health (including infertility, pregnancy and child loss, traumatic birth, postpartum depression and anxiety).
I understand that reaching out for support can be difficult, and it is important to find a therapist you feel you can build a strong relationship with to reach your goals. I'd like to share a bit about myself and my approach, to help you decide if we may be a good fit to work together. My goal is to create a safe space for you to learn new strategies to cope with difficult emotions and build a life that aligns with your values. My approach tends to be collaborative and engaging. I integrate research-based treatments (including mindfulness, CBT, DBT) with empathy, warmth, and compassion to help you create positive change in your life

“I have lost someone and whenever I think of them, I am overwhelmed with sadness, anxiety, or anger.” “I don’t want to forget them.” “The day they die, time stopped and since then I have felt that I am stuck.” “I don’t deserve to be happy now that they are gone.” If those statements sound familiar, know that you are not alone and that grief therapy can help.

I have a wide experience working with clients who have experienced a major loss and and are grieving, whether the loss is the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, the loss of a relationship, or the losses that can come with chronic illness. I have also helped numerous people who are in emotionally and verbally abusive relationships, or have been in such relationships with partners, parents, or friends in the past. In addition, I enjoy helping people suffering from anxiety and depression to release these mood states and adopt a more tranquil state of mind.

This can include skill-building and relaxation techniques to improve your ability to regulate difficult emotions and behaviors, assertive communication, setting limits and healthy boundaries, grief counseling that teaches about grief, and skills to manage emotional waves.
Hi there! I'm Jenna. I'm a newly licensed psychologist (PhD) based in Northern California. I genuinely believe that we're all a few adjustments from living a fulfilling life; whether these require minor behavioral adjustments or more profound work on old wounds that never healed, relief from suffering is possible. You are the expert of your own lives, and my job is to create space to process, explore, and learn how to relate to experiences and emotions differently.

I have extensive background in helping people navigate life transitions, grief and loss, as well as daily challenges like coping with disappointing ourselves or others, the reality that we cannot control as much as we would like, and the fantasy we're told that it's possible to get things "just right" if we work hard enough or sacrifice enough.
Life can get difficult sometimes.  If you are struggling, you are not alone. I believe we all have a natural ability to transform and heal during difficult times if given support and guidance to know ourselves and the longings beneath our emotions. My goal is to provide an interactive, affirming and empowering space for my clients to explore their emotions and longings, ultimately building resilience. I'm trained in working with stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, shame, grief and trauma. I have years of experience providing brief and longer term therapy and can help you build capacity for a vibrant and deeply meaningful life.

I am a Korean American therapist trained in methods to treat anxiety/depression as well as methods to untangle the dense knots of trauma and prolonged grief.
Anxiety, depression, adjustment to a new culture, code-switching, existential angst, losing a loved one, past wounds from family you can't seem to shake... On some days experiences like these may feel manageable. On other days these same experiences might leave you feeling overwhelmed, alone, and deeply exhausted. I believe that therapy can help you feel less at the mercy of painful forces outside of your control and more like you have a solid path forward. As a therapist I would be the wizard to your hero’s journey, bringing therapeutic insight to support the unique needs of your individual quest. 한국어로도 상담이 가능합니다.

Grief can make you feel terribly lonely, but you do not have to sit with it alone.
Hi! I'm your go-to therapist for all things grief. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual virtual therapy to clients in California. My specialty areas are pregnancy loss, fertility challenges, and cancer support. What do these areas have in common? Grief. That's where I come in. I have a deep capacity to hold someone's grief while they experience it in its entirety and then learn how to cope with it as it shows up in different parts of their lives. Working in the NICU, ante/postpartum, and oncology units for 4 years combined with my personal experience with traumatic loss and cancer informs my work.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
