Sometimes life is too difficult to navigate on your own. Psychotherapy is one of the most powerful tools to bring healing and transformation to your life, and choosing to pursue it is brave. You might be seeking therapy to decrease anxiety or depression, heal from a trauma, improve your relationships, rid yourself of chronic pain, or navigate school with ADHD or a learning disability. You also might be seeking therapy on behalf of your child or your family. Regardless of what leads you to therapy, I understand the importance of finding a therapist that is the right fit.

I work with adults and teens who struggle with neurodiversity ( ADHD, Autism) and complex trauma.
You've been doing talk therapy for years but still feel stuck, like a jagged rock deep inside you. You are either someone who was affected by big or acute traumatic events or had a lack of emotional needs met growing up. Or you are someone who feels like their brain has always worked a little differently ( ADHD/Autism)? Whether it's relationship problems, job issues, or just feeling overwhelmed and disorganized, sometimes it can feel like you just can’t get it right, despite tremendous effort. You're in the right place if you resonate! Together we can rewrite your story for a future that better reflects who you are and feel better.

My specialties include working with creative professionals, high school and college students, individuals in their 20s and 30s, LGBTQIA+ individuals, those seeking ADHD/executive functioning support and coaching, and bicoastal clients who benefit from having a provider who is licensed in both California and New York.
Tired of feeling stuck and frustrated? You deserve to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. I can help you accomplish that in numerous ways. While I offer traditional talk therapy, I also offer Somatic Experiencing and EMDR. Both of these modalities utilize an inside-out approach, facilitating healing at a deep, somatic level that endures, rather than trying to convince yourself you are okay when you know you don’t feel it in your body. Plus, you never have to sacrifice one approach for another. We continue to incorporate other modalities, such as psychodynamic, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral interventions, into treatment.

Are you looking for a psychotherapist during these tough times? I work with children and adults who struggle with behavioral issues, ADHD/learning disorders, divorce, depression, anxiety, trauma, and chronic pain. Many believe disorders are a disability, but I know this to be wrong. They only make you stronger, and do not have to keep you from living a full and healthy life. It may be time to tap into your inner strength, and I am here to help.

In addition to therapy, I have a strong background in psychological assessment and offer ADHD evaluations for adults who are concerned about their symptoms and wonder if a diagnosis of ADHD may have been missed earlier in life.
I create a space that feels safe, encouraging, and collaborative so that you can explore your life experiences and feel supported in moving toward a healthy and vibrant life. Therapy is a place to learn and try out new skills, such as managing difficult emotions or improving communication. Therapy is also a space in which people can feel deeply heard and connected, and I believe a strong relationship between a therapist and client can be profoundly helpful when going through a period of healing and growth.

As a therapist experienced working with anxiety, ADHD, stress, and trauma, I believe that you are an expert in your experiences and you can create a life that fulfills you.
You want to appear successful & like you "have it all together” but deep down are struggling with worry, stress, staying on top of a things or just getting things done, or coping with deeply challenging experiences that have occurred in your life. You may be fed up with demands placed on you at work, home, and in your relationships, feeling unable to advocate for yourself or find a sense of balance, or thinking that you're broken in some way. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to live a life based on your terms and which fulfills you.

You don't have to suffer from a severe psychological disorder to benefit from help. Sometimes, functional depression, anxiety, or stress can have a noticeable effect as well. You still function but life could definitely improve. It's just a little grayer, a little louder, little harder to handle. The noise in your brain may be a low chatter but it definitely takes up space. It depletes your energy and makes it just a little harder to manage. You're moody, you're tired, and you don't know how to fix it. When you spend so much time and energy managing your mental health you spend less time living. Let's change that.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
