Waitlist for new clients
When looking for a therapist, it's important that we find someone who we believe can help us. We need someone we feel comfortable with, and someone we can trust. When I work with my clients within this framework and with these foundations, they are able to set and reach goals to fulfill dreams and find their meaning and purpose in life. In my practice, I work with clients struggling with mood disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders, and relationship problems. I believe in aligning our thoughts, emotions, words, behavior, and spirit in order to see our path laid out before us with clarity.

Want to learn how you can stop feeling so anxious or depressed, and feel more joy and less stress? Maybe you’ve had symptoms of anxiety, or panic attacks that seem to come from nowhere. Sleep problems. Losing motivation and focus. Obsessive thinking. Many people first try to get help by going to the doctor for medication. Others use alcohol or marijuana to cope. These may provide some relief, but they might not address the underlying issues. Or perhaps you are looking for help with a relationship issue. Are you experiencing an escalation of conflict, or feeling disconnected and drifting apart, or too focused on work or the kids?

Overthinking things. Analyzing every decision to death. Wanting to know for sure what the outcome will be. Not taking the first step unless you feel for sure it will work out the way you want it to. These obsessive tendencies can be paralyzing. They can hold you back from living a more enjoyable life. There is hope and help. I have devoted my work to helping people overcome symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Phobias, and Panic Attacks.

I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in treating Anxiety and OCD & Phobias in adults and teens, with a secondary focus on helping couples especially those struggling to recover from infidelity.
You long to wake up in the morning less anxious and depressed, or you're just feeling stressed-out and stuck. Maybe pain from infidelity consumes you but you want to fix what's broken rather than throwing in the towel. Deep down, you want to feel excited about your life and I want that for you too. I can help you untangle the knotted threads of your life and create something beautiful. If you've tried therapy before but felt something was missing (maybe too much listening and not enough tools or direction), let's do it differently this time so you have both the knowledge & insights but also the skills to create your best life.

If you are dealing with the impacts of trauma, OCD, stress, depression or anxiety there is support available.
I specialize in the treatment of complex trauma, OCD, depression and anxiety. I strive to create safety with each person I work with so we can explore what is going on emotionally, physically, cognitively and spiritually. Trauma and stress live in the body and, in my experience, an integrated approach is most helpful, where we pay attention to feelings, physical sensations, thoughts, behaviors and images that arise during sessions. I also utilize mindfulness, and inner child healing. We will work together moving towards your goals, so that as you feel better, you will have more freedom to become the person you want to be.

Life can be extremely challenging. In response, we develop coping mechanisms that work in the moment, but that ultimately hinder our ability to connect with ourselves and others in a healthy way. With my clients, we identify destructive/productive learned behaviors. We practice new ways of interacting and work through past and present struggles, regaining the ability to feel calm, love, and joy! Some of the issues I treat are anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, addiction, and narcissism (stemming from trauma). I work with adults and couples in various stages of life (marriage, new parents, divorce, midlife, etc.).

The most important message I want any potential client to take away from this is that you are amazing! If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, or other trauma related disorders and would like to try a more holistic approach to nurture your mental health then please give me a call or send an email.
From personal experience, I know how scary, overwhelming, lonely, and defeating our internal reality can be at times. It can make monsters out of ourselves and others. But it doesn't have to be that way. What if instead we look at life events as experiences to be had and understood? What if there's actually nothing wrong with you or anyone else and we all just want to feel loved and accepted for who we genuinely are? I know life can feel empty and scary sometimes, but it doesn't have to be that way. Suffering does not have to be a thing we dread or get stuck in. Together we can help you feel how beautiful life truly is.

For those with Anxiety ( OCD, Social, Generalized, Panic Attacks, and Phobias), I use evidence-based practices like ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT to support the balance of change and acceptance.
My clients are sensitive to the world around them. They feel emotions deeply and have big internal or external reactions. I work with children (ages 3+), teens, and young adults on their journeys to grow, thrive, and create lasting change. I play an active role in sessions by teaching skills, reframing negative thought patterns, building self-esteem, and focusing on each individual's needs to create a life worth living. I support the unique abilities you already have, to overcome challenges, build resilience, and improve emotional understanding and communication, leading to more positive and productive behaviors and outcomes.

I treat anxiety and depression through examining deep-rooted inner conflicts/shame/guilt/childhood trauma and unconscious cognitive distortions while reshaping repetitive/ obsessive coping mechanisms that manifest in perpetuating self esteem, career, and relationship difficulties.
I work with unique individuals who are seemingly successful and happy but deep inside feel lost, alone, even if they are in a relationship, and often feel like they don't belong or struggle to be present in life. With expertise gathered from years of experience across borders, time zones and cultures, I dive alongside men and women into the deep ocean of darkness— including all types of diversity, in-between/intersecting identities, worldwide travelers, high-achieving/performing and creative people. I am Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) certified and was formerly a clinical supervisor and psychologist at Johns Hopkins University.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
