I can help you understand what is normal, how to cope with the reality and pain of grief, how to deal with the stress of relationships, and how to heal and make new meaning in life.
Loss? We all experience it. So why does it catch us off guard? Why are the emotions overwhelming or non-existent? Why do we struggle with concentration and exhaustion? Why do we lose interest in things that used to excite us?

If you are seeking long-term relief from anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or the various forms of loss, I will help you heal those emotional injuries that compound over a lifetime and make life lose its meaning and prevent you from living your best life.
When life's challenges - work, relationships, money troubles, illness or injury become too much to manage, or when the pain of the past pops up when you least expect it and disrupts sleep, or when daily stressors build up and make it hard to cope, that's when more than a friendly ear is needed. That's when a professional can help you heal the compounding effects of life experiences.

Sometimes life throws a curveball that wasn't anticipated, is difficult to handle, or that just seems unfair. While some things can't be changed -- the way circumstances are experienced and the responses we make to our circumstances requires skills that can be learned and applied to improve quality of life. The things we say to ourselves when facing overwhelming circumstances, disappointment, and injustice are vitally important. Whether you contend with uninvited trauma, grief and loss, anxious or depressed moods, or challenges in significant relationships, it is important to make choices that nurture meaningful life experience.

If you are considering a change, want to resolve conflict, or heal the past, you have taken the first step. It can be difficult to finally reach out to someone. Sometimes our problems may manifest as conflict in our relationships and occupations. Managing changes in our lives may create stress and confusion. Loss and grieving may require more support than family and friends can provide. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy can serve to give you the space to clarify issues and heal.

What I've learned most is that people just want to be heard. I see you, I hear you, Yes...You! My approach is straightforward..let's talk about it, lets get to the root of it and let's find a solution. Whether it's anxiety, depression, grief, loss, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, prenatal or postpartum-related stressors you do not have to go through any experience alone. Finding hope and relief no longer has to seem like an impossibility.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
