I also use various EBPs and modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, attachment theory, humor, and art therapy.
It's okay to ask for help. In fact, it's brave! We live in a busy and uncertain world with many expectations. Often times people feel like they aren't enough or that there is something wrong with them. You may feel you are not thin enough, a good enough mom, student, partner, employee, etc. But you are enough! And you are not a problem to be fixed! You are a human to be understood! Whether you are struggling with an eating disorder, anxiety, OCD, addiction, or how to navigate life in general, my goal is to create a space for you to feel safe enough to show up as you are and to know that it's okay to not be okay.

Let's st art with a 15-minute conversation to share your specific concerns and see if we’re a good fit.
Congratulations on taking a step closer to a solution and a life you love. I'd be happy to help you or your loved ones discover and practice more effective ways to experience and express. You'll learn to honor yourself, live your truth, and enjoy fulfilling relationships. Of course, making that happen requires your commitment and effort. I'll provide safe, non-judgmental listening and proven tools; you bring willingness and commitment to inquire, experiment and practice. As an expert in human behavior, I am a gender-affirming advocate for LGBTQ+ people and families. Sessions can be conducted via telehealth, in-person or by phone.

I also enjoy adding mindfulness, art, and music into sessions because I believe that therapy can be fun when the situation allows it.
Hi there! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Elementary School Counselor in California. Over the past few years, we have found ourselves in a weird, stressful world that has brought up a lot of struggles for all of us. I want to be the person that helps you overcome those struggles! I believe that we should focus on our mental health just as much as we focus on our physical health. I have worked with children from 5 all the way up to adults in their 60s with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to addiction.

Depending on what the client needs in the moment, I employ a variety of modalities and theories including narrative, somatic, guided meditations/visualizations, polyvagal breathwork, attachment, CBT, psychodynamic, DBT skills, and art therapy.
“To see and hear what is here, instead of what should be, was, or will be. To say what I feel and think, instead of what I should. To feel what I feel, instead of what I ought. To ask for what I want, instead of always waiting for permission. To take risks on my behalf, instead of choosing to be safe and not rock the boat.” ― Virginia Satir. I want to help you be your authentic self. Together we can uncover what is holding you back from living your truth. Whatever the root, you are in a safe space to release current or past trauma and beliefs not serving you.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
