I am trained in the 30-Task Recovery model (group therapy), PACT Couples therapy model, and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) for individuals.
As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) trained in IFS, I am absolutely passionate about helping those impacted by sexual integrity issues. I work with "addicted parts" using individual, couple, and group therapy modalities. I am quite aware of relational trauma that partners of sex, porn, and relationship addicts experience, and I compassionately work to guide addicted parts through isolating and shame-filled experiences. My role is to help reduce this shame and systematically get to the root of the addictive and compulsive behaviors that have led to intimacy disorder issues.

Some treatment modalities I use are attachment theory, EFT (Emotionally-Focused Therapy, PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I hold the sacredness of authenticity, humaning alongside other humans. I focus on working with women, particularly women of color, to show up to the brutal, sweaty, and liberating work of tending to your life while challenging oppressive systems that want humans to stay small. Together, we examine trauma and pain with self-compassion, address avoidance, build vocabulary around emotions to expand your knowing, and work together to enrich relational bonds. I would love to hold space for you! I am licensed and available to work with residents of California and Washington.

My trainings: CBT, EMDR, IFS, PACT, and RLT.
I help men and couples get unstuck in their relationships. As a man you may be struggling to feel and communicate your emotions, while simultaneously living with a great deal of stress. You may avoid conflict in order to not rock the boat. Self-doubt and an inner critic keep you feeling like you don't know where you're going (personally and professionally) and like you're never enough, leading to burnout. You want to feel confident, connected, have clear purpose, and to relish that thing they call joy. If you're a couple, we will work towards similar feelings of secure functioning. I want you two to feel safe, light, and powerful.

My passion is working with couples. I am a PACT Level 2 Couples Therapist and I have received extensive training from the Couples Institute in Menlo Park. Studying with Stan Tatkin PhD and Ellyn Bader PhD have given me the extra education to help couples. My sessions are two hours. I find the extra time makes all the difference in how productive and useful each session can be.

PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) is the model from which I practice with couples.
Sometimes it feels as though the wounds we experienced in our early lives have control over our well-being and emotions in the present. These wounded places, which often show up in our relationships can be healed and repaired. I'm here to help you untangle those past hurts, to connect more deeply with yourself and in turn with your partner. Relationships are one of the most vital and potentially rewarding ways in which we can feel both secure and alive, which is why I’m interested in helping to guide you through the work of building healthy relationships and giving you the tools to learn how to be your true and most authentic self.

She has experience in addiction support, mental illness advocacy, crisis management & childhood trauma, additionally certified in Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy ( PACT).
Are you going through a life change, a loss, or experienced a traumatic event? These situations may leave you feeling frustrated, overwhelmed and perhaps, like checking out. Do you wish you had taken a Relationship course? What if you had access to a relational leader to learn skills and bounce life's situations off of? Wouldn't that be helpful?

I use techniques from PACT, The Developmental Model, The Gottman Method and many others to weave together a roadmap that helps create security for both partners and teaches new ways to communicate, manage conflict and understand one another.
As my favorite mentor says, "Nothing is more difficult than another person." Even if you are amongst the luckiest out there and find your relationship to be effortless, chances are even you have periods where you and your partner are challenged to find your way through a difficult time. It comes with the territory; relationships are hard. If you are in one of those times or are in a chapter in your story where you cannot find your way back to a balanced coexistence, it's time to get support. Do not wait. These things do not fix themselves. Finding relief now gives you a chance to enjoy one another again, sooner than later.

Are you seeking to learn healthier ways to be in relationship than what you learned from your family? Do you need to make sense of your story & heal from trauma? Are you tired of stress driving you, compromising your best self? I enjoy partnering with adult children of emotionally immature parents, along with anyone seeking to develop more satisfying and meaningful relationships with others and/or with yourself. I have worked extensively with parents, children, & couples to create more secure relationships. By exploring your experiences in relationships, we can help you create new relationship possibilities, too.

PACT can help you diffuse conflict by understanding your partner's (and own) attachment style and physiological reactions.
I create a safe environment in which you can discover and actualize your true self. Finding and accessing your internal compass enables you to chart your own course and fulfill your potential. We will collaboratively set goals that advance your true self, minimize barriers that impede your growth, facilitate acceptance of what you cannot change, and allow for the redirection of energy towards what you can accomplish. So often life becomes about hanging on and weathering whatever storm comes next. My goal is for you to do more than survive. I want you to thrive.

Psychobiological Approach Couple Therapy
How does the psychobiological approach to couples therapy work?
The psychobiological approach to couples therapy combines research in three domains—attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and arousal regulation—to address relationship challenges. Couples learn about their underlying emotional and physiological responses to different situations so as to identify these responses and then shift them with the help of practice exercises in sessions.
Is the psychobiological approach to couples therapy evidence-based?
While some research has been conducted by its creator, there is little peer-reviewed research to support the efficacy of the psychobiological approach to couples therapy. It’s not as evidence-based as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, or acceptance and commitment therapy.
How long does the psychobiological approach to couples therapy last?
The psychobiological approach to couples therapy is a relatively short-term therapy, typically less than 12 sessions. However, individual sessions can be much longer. A typical couples therapy session lasts 45 minutes, while these sessions often last for two to three hours, and sometimes three to six hours. Some couples may opt to attend two or three sessions per week.
What are the limitations of the psychobiological approach to couples therapy?
A limitation of the psychobiological approach to couples therapy is that the evidence is much more limited than it is for other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or acceptance and commitment therapy. Additionally, the psychobiological approach to couples therapy only applies to couples in relationships, so keep in mind that it cannot treat mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.
