My name is Alison, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I specialize in anxiety and depression and work with clients to increase their self-efficacy through building their sense of control and self-understanding. I typically work with adults addressing anxiety and depression that may have become more apparent due to stressors, relationship difficulties, transitions, life experiences, health changes, and sometimes a compounding of all the above. When I think about why and who I am able to help - it's because I have survived over and over again. From the family trauma that started my therapy journey to horrific life events, life transitions, grief/loss, identity crisis, relationship abuse, overcoming narcissists, ...and at the same time losing and then repairing my faith in God. If you are still reading and connect to some of what I've written, then I know your pain and that you just want it to stop. You want to heal and move forward. Because somewhere deep down - you know it's possible.

If you’re reading this, you’re having some sort of trouble. I help good people get through tough times. There are many ways to do counseling. You can think of me as a life coach who offers principles to help you solve personal and relational problems. And /or, I can be your therapist to help you process a history of hurts and help you get on with your life. I work with couples and individuals (children, teens and adults) in an atmosphere that is casual and relaxed. I use language and tools you can use now. No psychobabble. If we connect we're likely to do some good work. So I'm ready when you are.

As an LMFT I have experience working with individuals from all walks of life and various age groups. Therapy does not have to be dry, boring, or scary and it's okay to havre fun in therapy. Although I may not have the same experiences as you, however, I know what it feels like to make mistakes, experience hurt, love, loss, pain and fear. I also know what it's like to rebuild myself and have success again. Everyone experiences a range of beliefs, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and situations that shape and mold us. Therefore, working with people in their time of need motivates me to assist them in finding balance in their lives.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
