I do this by using Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples, and Attachment-Focused EMDR with individuals.
Being in a long-term relationship can be difficult. Job stress, parenting, chronic illness, and past trauma all add to the disruption in a relationship. When one or more of these are at play, your energy is sapped and your ability to respond to your partner or kids with patience is limited. It's hard to keep yourself from just reacting, whether that reaction is to snap out or shut down. I know - from very personal experience - how it feels to be trapped, alone, and stuck in a relationship without any idea how to make it better. But now, there's a roadmap to making these issues better, and I'd like to share it with you.

Through EMDR, mindfulness, and holistic approach we can help mind and body restore to a more balanced state.
Ready to stop feeling lost? Do you feel like life is out of control? Are you quick to cry or short tempered? Have you experienced a life changing event? You are not alone. Life and unmanaged stress can leave us wondering how we got where we are and if anything can ever be different. It is easy to walk through life feeling disconnected and numb, like you are just going through the motions. I’m am here to tell you: ‘Life can be different and the answers are within you.”

The skills I teach incorporate various tools, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing ( EMDR), internal family systems (IFS), relational life therapy (RLT), natural healing therapies (including mindful meditation and amino acid supplements for mental health issues), and more.
Life is a wild journey. There is so much to navigate through, and many of us do not have a road map. With no directions to guide us, we often get stuck circulating around the same issues. We repeat patterns of thoughts, behaviors, actions. We overanalyze. We shame ourselves. Anything can trigger these cycles: trauma, drama, emotions, a sense of grandiosity…

My training in depth psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR and Imago Couples therapy - as well as a one year meditation retreat - allow me to integrate the best of Western psychology and the most powerful practices from the Eastern traditions.
I help you dissolve emotional triggers so that you learn to access real ease and discover how to end unhelpful reactions and ingrained habits that make living in your head, in your body and in your relationships challenging and exhausting. When you do this work, you not only heal addictive loops but also free yourself from feeling at the mercy of mood swings, triggering relationship patterns and emotional rollercoasters.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
