Do you have trauma, anxiety or depression and feel ready to work on yourself? Perhaps you are new to therapy but feel motivated or inspired to heal and work through emotions, conflicts or blockages to living a more fulfilling life. Have you had other therapies but feel “it’s time” to go deeper and explore root causes of patterns and issues? Do you feel you are in an “awakening“ and hope to work with a Transpersonal Therapist to support the integration of your higher or Whole/Core Self?

Not your daddy’s therapist - $190 per 50min session. If you are looking for a therapist just like every other, then keep looking. I am holistic, young, experimental, polyamorous, extremely open-minded, spiritual, transpersonal, neurodiverse, weird, provocative, quirky, heteroflexible, and a sparkle of queer. My life's work focuses on the deconstruction of social norms including gender, masculinity/femininity, mononormativity, sexuality, professionalism, and mental health as a whole. Therapy is not a one size fits all kind of gig. I customize the way I work to match the needs, strengths, and limitations of each individual client.

Are you in a "caterpillar stage" of life? You sense that you could be more, but you find yourself limited by negative thoughts and/or overwhelming emotions. Or are you in a "chrysalis stage"? Your whole life seems to have disintegrated into nothing recognizable, and you are struggling to make sense of it all. From a foundation of empathy, acceptance, compassion, and respect, I provide a safe and supportive environment in which to grow and/or heal. I work from a "client-centered" approach that helps you find your own answers and healing from within.

For 35 years I have worked with children, couples, individuals, and families in providing a supportive, educational and safe place to find answers to life's challenges. Separation is the hardest lesson in life and with each separation we experience there is an opportunity to grow and become the best we can be. Separations like divorce, losing a loved one, struggling with work issues, addictions, disconnect from family members or feeling alone in this large and busy world, it will be my privilege to listen, support and provide the counseling, mediation and guidance you may be seeking at this time.

To fix a problem you first need to know what the problem is, and self-awareness is key in this process. You are looking for a therapist either because you have found the courage to take a closer look at yourself, or you are looking for help in finding that courage. I will be by your side as you examine whatever stumbling blocks are interfering with your journey at the moment. Together we will look at your structures, beliefs, stories and habits. Are they serving you or are they getting in the way of your growth, relationships and life experience?

Narcissistic and emotional abuse can leave us feeling confused, hurt, and desperate for answers. You may have thought you found your soulmate, but instead you find yourself in a very complicated relationship. You may feel alone and isolated, blaming yourself for how badly the relationship is going. Instead of being in this amazing relationship you thought you had signed up for, you are now studying everything you can about narcissism and narcissistic abuse. But you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to leave this person but you don’t know how. You know deep down that it is time to do something different.

Not accepting new clients
Please note: I will not be available for consulting with prospective new clients or others by phone or email until after July 15 2024. I have 40 years experience helping people feel better about themselves, and working through the pain and self doubt that is holding them back in life. We all need a caring, supportive person at times who listens and is genuinely concerned about our well being. When that happens new possibilities for happiness that seemed lost or forgotten can emerge to our delight and relief. For years I've led workshops and conferences at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California on compassion oriented therapy.

I use Lazarus' multimodal approach, Wilber’s integral theory, Gorski/CBT, transpersonal/Buddhist psychology, family systems, EMDR, biofeedback and other technologies that may aid in Recovery.
For 25 years, I have assisted people with a variety of addictions, from the exogenous abuse of drugs and alcohol, to the ones that stem from the chemicals already inside the brain, such as sex and love addiction, abandonment patterns, sexual compulsions, gambling, internet, and workaholism. Unlike most psychotherapists, I’m a Board Certified Addiction Specialist, well versed in both abstinence and harm reduction strategies. Unlike most addiction professionals, I am also psychotherapist who also treats the anxiety, depression, and other psychological issues that often manifest after being uncovered through recovery.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and incorporates attachment based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and transpersonal therapy.
My name is Ryannah Tannarome. I welcome teens, adults, and families in my practice. I am passionate about working with individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, and relational dynamics in a holistic way. I believe that our past experiences, both positive and challenging, shape who we are. When those challenging patterns are stuck and hidden in the subconscious they can run our lives. My goal is to help clients explore their subconscious patterns and bring choice into the equation. I have a strong background supporting clients who have experienced trauma and struggle with anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Through my holistic approach I bring a range of highly effective techniques and modalities, including mind (cognitive behavior), body (somatic) and spirit (transpersonal).
You may think that big things have to change in your life in order for you to feel better and experience improvement. But I've come to believe that a key, gentle shift in perspective can bring about more positive change than many realize. That is a shift from taking a critical approach with yourself to taking a Kinder Approach. With this shift in how you approach yourself and your experiences comes greater self-awareness and feelings of confidence, hopefulness, empowerment and knowing your value. You can begin to see and feel new possibilities and choices for your life.

I rarely rely on any one approach and blend interests in transpersonal, somatic, cognitive, spiritual, natural, creative/artistic, and indigenous healing to create truly unique experiences for each client.
Welcome, glad you're here. Let's be honest, life often is messy and can feel like a struggle. And yet, what if beneath trauma, disappointments, frustrations, or seemingly poor life choices lie seeds of growth that just need some watering? What if you already contain the ingredients essential for thriving? Might your relationships as well? In my view therapy provides a sacred like opportunity where one is offered a chance to experience renewed vitality, meaning, and an invigorated sense of mind, body, spirit, and soul. A space where the genius in you or perhaps the potentials lying in relationships and parenting roles can emerge.

My background is in Transpersonal counseling, which means that I include body, mind, soul and spirit in our work.
You're unique and expressive. You need a therapist who will understand you. Someone you can talk to about anything. Someone who will support you on your journey and not judge you for who you are and where you've been. I'm here to give you that support. As someone who has experienced a lot of what life has to offer, from small town to big city to things in the desert, I know what it is like to take a journey and I would love to support you in yours.

Transpersonal Therapists

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
