I work with a wide array of clients. If you are self motivated; enjoy exploration and play; (both kids and adults), and are interested in exploring all facets of yourself, please call today. I use a holistic approach, and explore all factors which affect mental health including physical health, nutrition, family dynamics, and relationships.

I also have a special interest in transpersonal and depth psychology, including spiritual & transpersonal emergence, expressive arts therapies, ecotherapy, sexuality, LGBTQIA concerns, and transitional age youth (TAY).
Do you need support finding your life’s purpose? Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you find it difficult to feel pain and face your shadows? While considering the whole person- heart, soul, mind and body, I trust that you enter therapy having the insight you need to navigate your distress. I use the term "depth emergence" to explain my orientation and approach. It stems from depth psychology, which emphasizes gaining access to the unconscious and bringing it into consciousness. While increasing awareness we derive meaning, evolve, and transform.

Do you find it difficult to maintain a healthy connection with yourself, which in turn affects your relationships with others? Feelings of shame, guilt, judgment, and self-doubt can become intrusive and impact your daily thoughts, behaviors, and overall mental and physical well-being. If left unaddressed, these feelings can lead to isolation, low energy, depression, and anxiety. As F.M. Alexander once said, "People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures."

I have two decades of experience in the behavioral sciences as a clinician and educator. Over the years my approach to clients has evolved from psychotherapy to creative problem-solving. I have found that many clients struggle not necessarily with “mental disorders” but with ineffective mental strategies. The mind doesn’t come with a user’s manual. But you can learn to use your mind. The mind is the user-interface for your neurosomatic (brain-body) system, similar to the screen of an iPhone or computer. Although we have limitless potential, we need the proper apps (mental strategies) to utilize that potential.

Staying sane in an insane world is crazy-making! As our modern culture has become more complicated, so have our lives. Living at a fast pace, we may find ourselves feeling isolated, lost, or even hopeless. In these times I believe it is courageous to seek therapy when something "feels off." You already possess the skills you need to live the life you envision. I can help you identify and move past blockages and emotional clutter. My role in this process is to provide engagement and collaboration as we approach the discomfort, grief, or fear with curiosity and compassion.

I'm very body-centered, drawing on trauma-informed modalities adapted for Zoom, my office, or a ranch north of Burbank through equine-assisted therapy! My work aims for less thinking and more feeling, inviting the intuition of your body to lead the way. We'll use mindfulness to access the wisdom of your subconscious and heal wounded patterns at the source through gentle sensory and energetic explorations of feelings, experiences, belief systems, and relationships. The result is... letting go of results! And cultivating loving connection with yourself. If you crave holistic, experiential, artistic therapy my approach may be for you.

As it is with all of nature, it is our human nature to grow. To really live entails creative movement and transformation over time, in perpetual call and response with a world that evolves in parallel. In this way, we can be impressively adaptable beings. But sometimes we forget this. We find ourselves clinging to internalized messages about who and how we should be, and the confusion, doubt, worry, and fear that follow end up stalling, blocking, or dulling our capacity to flow in connection with life. Our true nature begins to feel very far away.

My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in psychodynamic theory and weaves multiple therapeutic modalities & research, including trauma-informed interventions, somatic therapy, neuroscience, and attachment theory. My clients appreciate my relaxed, warmly inquisitive and direct style. I adhere to a nonpathologizing model, recognizing coping mechanisms as survival strategies. I believe that emotions are powerful messengers, pointing to authentic needs and feelings. I work with people who are interested in understanding how their strategies are perpetuating anxiety & self doubt, preventing them from experiencing peace and confidence.

Do you want to change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior? Accept yourself without shame? Strengthen your relationships while also learning to create boundaries? Allow yourself to be loved? Every day we are bombarded with messages telling us who we should be, how we should look, and what we should do in order to be acceptable, worthy of love, and okay. Without help, it can feel lonely and overwhelming to navigate these ‘shoulds’ and decide whether our choices are coming from a place of fear or from an authentic truth. You deserve to have the capacity to choose who you want to be, rather than have it be chosen for you.
