I work with adults, children, teens, and families to address relational conflicts, behavioral and academic problems, and general family dysfunction. I also support parents, and work with them to better understand the underlying causes of their children's acting-out, self-harming, and/or self-isolating behaviors.

Being a woman has never been easy but the stressors and expectations experienced by women today make it seem all but impossible. I am here to help you navigate the numerous balls that you juggle. I work with women who are motivated, bright, and successful…and still feel like they aren’t “enough.” Whether you are struggling with being a working mom, managing the “mental load,” not feeling fulfilled, postpartum anxiety or depression, relationship issues, work stress, perfectionism, or major life decisions, I can support you on this journey. I combine CBT and a relational approach, which I tailor to your personal goals.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and relational, so I tend to be engaged and curious in the therapeutic space, offering observations, asking questions, and sharing any noticeable patterns or connections.
I'm a therapist because therapy saved my life. Through that lived experience, and with education and training, I help clients improve their relationship with themselves and others, exploring issues related to trauma, gender, sexuality, people-pleasing, boundaries, and self-worth. My clients are thoughtful people who have done the best they can on their own and are looking for additional support. They seek to expand their perspective, to feel differently in the world, and want lasting change. Together we'll create that change, and I firmly believe in your inherent worth, power, and self-determination to facilitate the shift you seek.

Specialized training includes in Somatic Experiencing (Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute), Internal Family Systems (IFS Institute), NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM Training Institute), MDMA & Psilocybin Assisted Therapy (MAPS/Compass Pathways), EMDR (EMDR Institute), & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Academy of Cognitive Therapy).
Healing is a delicate and powerful process of transformation that involves the emergence of an authentic autonomous self in the presence of an empathic other. Our work together will focus on the areas of your life that are inhibiting the power of your full potential. We all need our pain witnessed in an effort to move beyond where we feel stuck. Through compassion, active listening, challenging explorations and a space where vulnerability can be safe, I support my clients growth in an encouraging and straightforward approach.

I am particularly interested in working with those struggling with grief, loss, and trauma and the often complicated relational impacts of those lived experiences.
I consider it a privilege to be part of the journey of therapy with my clients, and to be a supportive witness to their growth. The dedicated space I offer in therapy, built on a strong therapeutic bond with my clients, represents an opportunity to explore new ways of being and relating that translates into productive changes in their lives. I am motivated by a genuine curiosity about my clients' unique experiences and a desire to help them uncover inner sources of strength and resilience and to deepen their self-understanding.

Perhaps that’s overwhelm, burnout, perfectionism, identity questions, relational struggles, creative blocks, work-related dissatisfaction, generally feeling unfulfilled, or the stress of everyday life.
The state of the world may have you feeling lost, uncertain, or hopeless. This is a natural response to the collective shadow work we find ourselves in the midst of. Adults who are creative, curious, and compassionate but struggle to apply those strengths to themselves consider me a good fit, as do those who crave relationships but find them to be more trouble than they're worth. I work well with people-pleasers, late-bloomers, artists seeking to expand metaphor, healers unsure of their role in uncertain times, and those needing to carve out a place for themselves in the world.

I am a licensed psychologist and my focus has centered around toddler and teen diagnosis and intervention, parent counseling/skills training, and family group psychotherapy. I utilize my background and training in psychodynamic, relational, and attachment-based approaches to therapy, but also appreciate when cognitive and behavioral approaches are needed. Utilizing my skills in psychodiagnostic testing and therapy, I provide individualized treatment and support to children and their families. (Virtual therapy (age 12+), parent training, and testing/evaluations are available. Currently, no availability for in-person therapy cases.)

I primarily work in a somatic and relational way which means that I deal with what is happening in the moment in the nervous system between us.
I believe in all people’s innate capacity to heal. To me, all symptoms that we experience whether it be chronic pain, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc can be explained by trauma. Trauma does not have to be big events. Trauma can be if we are not attuned to emotionally as children or if our parents have their own unprocessed trauma—this sort of trauma often leads to deep seeded beliefs that we are unloveable and bad. Our healing comes from teaching our parts that we are loveable and accepted just as we are.

I provide virtual psychotherapy for adults and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and relational issues.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship and self-insight are key to change in treatment. My approach is warm but active, direct and honest. I especially appreciate the benefits of long-term, depth-oriented therapy, and I have years of experience using evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, eating disorders and relationship issues.

I believe that early life experiences have a lingering impact and I help patients understand current patterns in the context of their past, thus allowing for greater fluidity, flexibility, and satisfaction. My approach is primarily relational, somatic and psychoanalytic, though I pull from other frameworks as well. I offer dreamwork for those interested.

I believe relational conflict presents an opportunity to discover and create deeper empathy for one another, understanding, and better communication.
Therapy seeks to address the patterns and unresolved material unique to each of us which hampers our ability to connect meaningfully with others and limits our capacity for joy. I work with couples and individuals looking to deepen their understanding of themselves and work collaboratively to cultivate curiosity, authenticity, honesty, self-compassion, and the ability to tolerate difficult feelings. I use a combination of gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy, EMDR, and somatic interventions when working with individuals. My couple’s work is mainly inspired by family systems theory and imago therapy.

Many of us contend with worry, feelings of failure and stuckness, inadequacy, despair, perfectionism, parenting, grief, and difficulties navigating relational differences. In our work together, we'll identify these problems and determine what they are getting in the way of. Collaborative conversations will allow us to listen for your hopes and values and explore how these reveal new possibilities for making the life you want. Please email me to set up a consultation so I can hear more about your hopes for therapy and answer any questions about the process.

I have worked with patients suffering from a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, disordered eating, relational difficulties, and life transitions. I enjoy working with patients who are curious, introspective, and open to experiencing themselves differently. I will help in identifying current self-narratives, and will support you in rewriting scripts that are inaccurate and no longer serving you. I see immense value in examining childhood experiences and family dynamics and will help you process past experiences to reduce the hold they may have on you today.

I pull from a variety of modalities, including relational Gestalt therapy, mindful self-compassion, family systems, and attachment theory.
My work is informed by the idea that in order to change, we must first cultivate self-acceptance. I believe that we all possess an inner strength and resilience that, with support and increased self-awareness, can empower us to live authentic, fulfilling, and meaningful lives.

I consider it a privilege and an honor to work with people who want to find balance in their lives. People come into therapy seeking help for a variety of problems. You may be in severe pain, suffering the effects of trauma, stressful events, ruptured relationships or addiction problems. You may need help to achieve healthy emotional boundaries with friends, loved ones, co-workers. Perhaps you wish to live a more full and satisfying life. While I typically draw from psychodynamic, family systems and relational/humanistic approaches, I am very flexible and tailor my approach to each individual.

My approach to change is to build upon the individual’s existing strengths while working toward healing and resiliency through a combination of mindfulness and collaborative relational processes.
I love to help clients navigate uncertainty and instability. I specialize in sex therapy & anxiety. I work from a holistic and attachment -based approach on issues such as life transitions, grief & loss, sexual trauma, relationship and intimacy concerns (desire discrepancy) and sexual dysfunction. Due to my background working as a sexual assault advocate, my area of expertise is with clients who have experienced difficult or dysfunctional past sexual experiences and are looking to work toward integrating and reclaiming their sexual identities and pleasure in order to move toward healing and overall well- being.

Among the approaches I use are psychodynamic psychotherapy, combining a relational and Jungian approach.
As a psychologist, my goal is to help you make lasting changes in your life. In a setting emphasizing compassion and kindness, I encourage you to work through areas where you are stuck. Together we will discover your resources to go beyond past and current traumas and troubled relationships. I work with individuals, couples, and families. While my approaches vary with your needs and aspirations, the goal is to establish a trusting relationship that will help you find your own way to joy and fulfillment.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
