My work is client-centered and strengths-based and I provide individual and couples therapy utilizing a holistic approach that integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, feminist therapy, LGBTQ-affirmative therapy, and I work from a culturally humble and anti-racist lens.
I believe that it takes great courage to take that first step in reaching out for help, whether you are coming from a place of sadness, anxiety, loneliness, grief, or confusion. It can also feel scary to look inward and honor your truth and to let your "true colors" shine. Together, we can process and sort through the pain and help you find meaning, clarity, healing, joy, and connection.

My style consists of: Psychodynamic, mindfulness, body awareness, cognitive-behavioral, existential, feminist, and narrative therapy approaches to achieve self-compassion and understanding of one's well being.
We all go through challenges. Daily stressors, trauma, oppressive narratives, and social conditioning from our upbringing affect our emotions, moods, nervous systems, and sense of self. These experiences can show up as: identity/sexuality issues, depression, anxiety, low self-value, difficulty staying present, and problems with our interpersonal and romantic relationships. You want change but how and where do you start; unfortunately, life doesn't always teach us these skills. By working together, we can safely work towards finding the authentic, whole person that already resides in you.

My work is informed by critical feminist, queer, disability and race theory.
Welcome! I work with clients that are seeking contentment, authenticity, and connection in their daily life. In our work together, you can expect a balance of exploring the past and present. Understanding the past can reveal invisible patterns, reduce shame, and connect you to your truest self. Empowered with this knowledge, we will explore your values in the present and develop skills that help you both cope with life as it is and create life as you want it to be. I utilize attachment and systems-based orientations in conjunction with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients heal and experience their lives more fully.

As a Death Doula and Latine therapist, I strive to provide an empathetic approach that encompasses intersectionality with nontraditional, feminist/multicultural, radical interventions.
Welcome! I provide support to individuals, couples, kink, and various polyamorous/ethically non-monogamous relational structures to guide them toward sexual wellness and health with an emphasis on communication, pleasure, and intimacy. I am also an avid advocate for combatting stigma in regard to STI/STDs, providing education on safe disclosures, and anxiety surrounding initial diagnoses. I've worked with folks with disabilities and chronic illness/pain, sex workers, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, LGBTQIA+, reproductive and perinatal issues, and those struggling with cultural identity and religious trauma.

My work is influenced by attachment, feminist, narrative, psychodynamic, and postmodern theories.
Therapy is different for everyone, which is why my approach is rooted in deep care and curiosity for the unique and ongoing stories we each live out on a daily basis. I believe therapy works best when there is a foundation of respect for the individual processes and perspectives of my clients. Therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and calibrated to the needs of each client. It’s a time to experience the essence of listening, of feeling heard, within the setting of the therapeutic relationship. Therapy is a place to restore trust in oneself, and to learn to witness oneself differently.

My approach is informed by feminist and attachment theories and incorporates parts work from Internal Family Systems when applicable.
In my therapeutic approach, I strive to provide an atmosphere in which you can safely bring down your walls and be held in your authenticity. Through uncovering fears, trauma stories, and intergenerational legacies we shed light on parts of the self that have been deemed unworthy and unlovable. The aim of our work together is to co-create a safe space so that integration and compassion for the whole self is possible!

I integrate psychoanalytic theory, feminist theory, postmodern and Buddhist perspectives into my work.
I believe humans heal through connection. The ability to connect with you and your experience, is something that I hold dear. I think everyone's journey is beautiful. I'm a fairly 'active' therapist in that I won't sit back and say nothing. The work is always relational, always happening right there in the session between us. I'm happy to have a phone call to see if we are a good match for each other.

Reaching out for help is a courageous milestone. Who you choose to invite into your journey is a very important decision. That’s why I believe the strength of the therapeutic relationship is essential for transformation, empowerment, and healing to take place. I utilize my empathetic and relational oriented style to form authentic alliances during this life changing work. I use approaches from evidence-based theories including Psychodynamic, CBT and Feminist Theory. Our environments influence us heavily which is why I observe each human experience uniquely through the lenses of societal and cultural realities.

My professional identity is equally informed by my identification as a cognitive-behaviorist and a 4th-wave feminist.
Deciding to begin therapy is already an active choice in the direction of where you want your life to go, and finding the right “fit” is critical to making meaningful change. By working together in-session to practice strategies and identify ineffective patterns, you will be encouraged and supported to take those strategies out into your life and try them in the relationships and situations where you need them most. I utilize evidence-based techniques and emphasize collaboration to help create the changes you want for yourself: to build the life you want to live.

I draw from modalities such as Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based CBT, Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Feminist Therapy.
A meaningful therapeutic relationship can be a nurturing and generative environment for growth and empowerment. In an accepting and loving space, hopes, fears, anxiety, depression, and trauma can be safely explored and harnessed as agents of change. I am passionate about the possibilities for healing and radical self-acceptance within each unique client and therapist relationship. Our work together will be collaborative, containing, and non-judgmental, exploring the past and present, as well as hopes for the future. I work from a place of warmth, curiosity, humor, and deep reverence for your unique life experience.

Feminist Therapists
How does feminist therapy work?
Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.
What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?
Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.
How long does feminist therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
Does feminist therapy work?
As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
