I draw from theories including EMDR, CBT, ACT, psychodynamic, EFT and Gottman (for couples) to heal issues stemming from depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, relational conflicts, stress, and existential unease.
You are fed up with repeating patterns that feel self-destructive. You are tired of being so reactive to the same triggers. You are ready for change, for relationships that fill your cup, and for a life that is purposeful and passionate. And you are probably totally overwhelmed right now. I get it. Wading through pages of therapist bios when you're already stressed, sad, and/or confused can be kind of the worst thing ever. But I'm here to help! I support clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, relationship issues, low self-esteem, stress and lack of clarity that big life transitions can kick up.

I have advance training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for both couples and individuals.
Do you find yourself disheartened by the quality of your relationships? Perhaps unable to find the words to express your deepest thoughts and/or needs. Maybe you feel stuck, even dissatisfied, hoping to move forward but the overwhelm of it all keeps you frozen. If this rings true, know that there is hope. There is a way off of the merry-go-round that keeps you in this tired loop. There is a future for you. It is possible to live fully and freely all whilst feeling connected.

I also have extensive post-graduate training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy ( EFT), the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), Internal Family Systems (in process of IFS certification), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Are you and your partner having the same argument on repeat? Has the intimacy and romance been replaced with distance and frustration? Seemingly little things become explosive arguments. And trying to talk about it leads to more conflict. Worse yet, the distance and disconnection is deafening. The unresolved issues are getting worse, and you are l eft feeling exhausted, invalidated, and alone. Every passing day feels like one step closer to your breaking point. Your family means everything to you and you worry it's taking a toll on your kids. You want more than anything to reconnect with your partner and finally feel heard.

We do this by engaging elements of two verified, marriage-specific techniques known as Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT) and The Gottman Method.
Is a lack of intimacy or stress in your relationship causing you to feel disconnected as a couple? Do you have a hard time feeling heard and seen in your partnership? Are you worried that you’re no longer on the same page about the goals, values, and visions you once shared together? Has one, or maybe even both, of you been unfaithful in your relationship? Sometimes life has a way of getting between us and our partners, leading us to turn away from—instead of towards—one another. Common obstacles like career stress, parenting, and significant life transitions can take up a lot of space in our lives without ample room to connect.

With couples, I work through an attachment lens ( EFT).
There are infinite reasons we seek therapy. You may find yourself disconnected from your relationships and exhausted by not feeling understood. You may feel pressure to be a perfect person, partner and parent, or struggling to name your feelings or needs in your relationships. I strive to co-create an attuned, safe space and our collaboration will center around your hopes, goals, and intersectional identities. When we allow the unfolding of emotional experiences, it can lead us to the emergence of a deeper understanding of yourself, self-acceptance, and connecting to the power and participation you have in relationships.

I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT) and The Gottman Method—two direct, evidence-based approaches.
I work with individuals and couples. With my background in law and my passion for mental health, I help lawyers and busy professionals navigate relationship issues, overcome burnout, and tackle work-related stress head-on. Maybe it’s the pressure-cooker environment at work, where deadlines loom like storm clouds. Or perhaps it’s the all-too-familiar dance of miscommunication and misunderstandings in your relationship, leaving you both feeling like you're stuck in a tango with two l eft feet. I can help you tap into your inner strength, set boundaries, and confidently navigate life’s twists and turns.

I utilize EFT to explore emotional states and attachment needs.
I work with couples, families, and individuals to help them reduce conflict and increase satisfaction in their relationships and day to day lives. The goal of our work would be to alleviate emotional distress, control anxiety, and feel more in control of one's choices and reactions. In addition to attachment, we would explore values and ideals to create a strength-based concept of oneself. Significant life changes, good or bad, can also add to interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts and create anxiety. Therapy can help.

Emotionally Focused Therapists

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
