I'm certified in treating anxiety (CCATP), have advanced training in Sex Therapy & certified in EMDR—a powerful tool shown to reduce the negative effects of trauma & emotional pain.
"Time does not heal all wounds; it just gives them space to sink into the subconscious, where they continue to impact your emotions and behavior. What heals is going inward, loving yourself, accepting yourself, listening to your needs, addressing your attachments and emotional history and following your intuition" (Yung Pueblo). I partner with my clients to help them find their voice, tell their story, re-engage their strengths and cultivate new ways to stay mindful and grounded—no matter what life throws at them. I work with couples and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship challenges and LGBTQI-related issues.

I am also trained in EMDR, a therapy that can be helpful for trauma-related concerns.
We all arrive to therapy with unique needs, hurts, and wishes. We may not even know what we are seeking, just that life is not feeling good. My goal as a therapist is to be a partner in the journey – we may not know the path, or even the destination. Therapy can help reveal forks in the road, grieve parts of the trail, or even give us the courage to trek on. We can process trauma and define what it means to heal. We can develop a greater sense of self and a deeper connection with others. My ideal client is someone who wants to learn about themselves, but maybe feels unsure of where to start.

You don't have to carry this pain inside alone any longer! I offer a unique approach to therapy integrating EMDR, CBT and Somatic approaches with meditation as well as focused coaching to help you discover your best self and feel whole again.
You want to stop living in fear/worry. You've had enough of doubting and criticizing yourself every single day questioning your skills at work or at interpersonal relationships with friends or your partner or the idea of dating is terrifying..the good news is you're in the right place and you're not alone! It's exhausting not being able to enjoy things that used to matter to you and over-thinking every single detail in a negative way. It's infuriating to want to socialize but being afraid of how people will "judge" or "view" you just because you don't feel like yourself. It's draining to not wanting to go to work or start your day.

EMDR has been the most helpful skill that I have learned since becoming a licensed mental health clinician.
I think that all humans including patients desire to be seen, heard and valued. When I bring compassion, empathy, and healing into my therapy room, my patients are more motivated to do the work necessary to heal from whatever pain has brought them to therapy. This may include relationship issues, anger issues, depression, anxieties or panic attacks, PTSD symptoms, OCD, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, etc. The patient’s goal is usually to just feel better or resolve the issue as quickly as possible. My job, as I see it, is to meet them where they are and provide them with the tools they need to begin their healing journey.

Currently, I am completing certification in attachment-focused EMDR.
I believe therapy is meant to be experimental, experiential, and collaborative. Carl Jung said, "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." Insights in therapy have the potential to be challenging and painful, and my job is to help you through them. A spirit of non-judgment, empathy, directness, and sense of humor defines my style. My goal is to assist clients in connecting to their authentic Selves, for the purpose of overcoming negative thinking, self-destructive patterns, and unfulfilling relationships.

Scientific research has established EMDR as effective for post-traumatic stress, anxiety, complicated grief, dissociative disorders, disturbing memories, phobias, performance anxiety, stress reduction, addictions, abuse, and more.
You have past trauma, current stress, anxiety, or depression that is getting in your way. It could be impacting your relationships, career, or health. You may feel alone, or notice yourself wanting to isolate from the people you care about. You've noticed that you are guarded, and that it's really just time for a change.

I work collaboratively and compassionately, using gentle, accelerated tools such as EMDR, Somatic Therapy and mindfulness, proven therapies which tap into these natural abilities, regulate the nervous system&treat trauma and accumulated life stress.
Do you notice yourself bumping up against the same old patterns? You may have disturbing memories that plague you, or feel stuck and overwhelmed by the uncontrollable intensity of past trauma. Maybe you struggle with feeling that you aren't good enough or deserving enough. Maybe you feel weighed down by emotional pain or shame that you can't seem to shake. So often our painful past experiences color our present perceptions, keeping us in a rut, circling through the same negative thoughts and feelings. I help those who feel imprisoned by their trauma break free and find empowerment and healing.

I use a variety of techniques, including talk therapy, dream analysis, EMDR, CBT, and image cards to help you get unstuck and back on-track.
Are you grieving the loss of someone you love? Perhaps they died, or they are still alive but absent for another reason. Are you lost and unable to find “normal”? Do you feel like you are swimming against a tide that is pulling you under? Or are you doing fine, but there’s something bothering you, deep down? Do upsetting and distressing memories from the past keep blocking you in the present?

I use a combination of insight oriented talk therapy, parts work, and EMDR therapy to support you in making lasting change.
Being a people-pleaser is like juggling a million expectations—both real and imagined. You’re always worried about keeping up appearances, pleasing everyone around you, and avoiding any kind of conflict, even if it means sacrificing your own needs or desires. The pressure to keep everyone happy can leave you feeling drained and disconnected from your true self. You get stuck in a cycle of seeking validation, only to end up feeling more lost and unfulfilled. It doesn’t have to be like this. Living with authenticity is within your reach!

As a Trauma-Focused Anxiety Therapist, I incorporate evidence-based treatments including mind-body modalities (EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems) and Psychodynamic and CBT.
I work with adults and children experiencing anxiety, trauma, intrusive/obsessive/ruminating thoughts, disordered eating, depression, narcissistic & sexual abuse, and relationship issues. My clients often feel a constant sense of panic, as though they need to figure things out right now. They have thoughts like "something is wrong with me" or "I am not enough." My clients find it hard to hold boundaries and may experience panic attacks, hopelessness, and burnout. They feel burdened and may also have a difficult relationship with their body and food.

Using an integrative therapeutic approach, I combine Attachment Focused EMDR and psychodynamic talk therapy to dive deep into your subconscious.
You feel broken and unlovable. You feel disconnected from yourself and your life. You have past experiences that you try to forget and you tell yourself that the past does not affect you- but that's not the truth. The truth is, you feel deep pain, hurt, and maybe shame and you are tired of pretending that you're fine. You just wake up and go through the same motions over and over again. Maybe things look great on the outside but on the inside you are struggling to feel anything or you are feeling everything all at once. Let me help you. I will guide you and support you as you process the past so that you can enjoy the present.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
