I also use EMDR, Brainspotting, and Hakomi which help to process and integrate trauma that has been stuck in the body.
Hi there, I’m Sam - welcome to my practice. With my warm gentle nature and holistic approach, I support my clients in uncovering their true resilient selves. I love working with young adults and women who are looking to find relief from trauma, PTSD, sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief, as well as those seeking support with perfectionism, relationships, dating, identity, spirituality, sexuality, and creativity. I see therapy as a journey of discovering the parts of you that have been in hiding – maybe the parts that you thought were unlovable or shameful.

From the relational work of Gestalt practice to the skill focus of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to the trauma-based models of EMDR and Brainspotting, I bring perspectives and tools to support your healing journey.
Whether you are here for healing past wounds, getting to know and care for yourself better, or moving forward in creating more of the life that you want to be living, you have come to the right place. In my 13 years as a therapist, I have served many different people in a variety of settings, which has taught me to courageously confront difficult truths and to be present with uncomfortable emotions. At the same time, we hold ourselves with compassion and find ways to connect with the hope that allows us to do this work. I am deeply moved by each person's process and honored to join you in your exploration.

I also use Brainspotting, a somatic intervention that can help your body process and release remnants of pain that may surface as emotional overwhelm, numbness, low self esteem, body pain, or reduced task performance.
I work with people to claim internal power, and to take charge of your own story, regardless of your age. I have a special passion working with children, teens and their families as they navigate the unpredictable terrain of school, relationships, and identity development. I have worked extensively with youth, adults, and QTIBIPOC folks on life transitions, anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, bipolar, neurodivergence (ADHD and autism), psychosis, mood swings, and relationship issues. My style of therapy is not passive, we will set concrete goals and I'll help you build the skills to achieve them.

My therapeutic style is eclectic and informed by trauma focused, somatic practices, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Brainspotting (BSP), and Ego States/Partswork.
Therapy is a powerful decision to begin the work towards realizing a more whole and fulfilling life. What past events have shaped you and how you experience the world? What patterns or blockages keep you stuck in survival mode and unable to fully thrive? What limiting beliefs continue to impact your relationship with yourself and others? I am a licensed clinical therapist practicing in Los Angeles within a relational, holistic, and person-centered framework. I have 12 years of experience working with those who live with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or need support in navigating everyday challenges and life transitions.

I use effective methods such as Brainspotting to access what is stuck and help release it so you can live and feel better in the present and live the life you want to see.
You've been doing talk therapy for years but still feel stuck, like a jagged rock deep inside you. You are either someone who was affected by big or acute traumatic events or had a lack of emotional needs met growing up. Or you are someone who feels like their brain has always worked a little differently (ADHD/Autism)? Whether it's relationship problems, job issues, or just feeling overwhelmed and disorganized, sometimes it can feel like you just can’t get it right, despite tremendous effort. You're in the right place if you resonate! Together we can rewrite your story for a future that better reflects who you are and feel better.

I integrate several transformative somatic approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), brainspotting and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to meet your goals.
Do you work in a highly competitive industry like entertainment, tech, or healthcare? Are you exhausted by the intense pressure to perform and impress? In spite of your achievements, you may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or chronic stress. You may feel burned out or confused about your identity and self-worth. Perhaps the constant striving, a difficult relationship, or a work-related setback has tanked your motivation or damaged your self esteem. You may be battling procrastination, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, or self-sabotaging behavior - even though you're extremely capable and want to thrive. I get it and I can help.

I’m drawn to somatic and experiential practices such as IFS, psychodrama, and Brainspotting.
I can’t tell you what will happen in therapy. The best therapy will surprise us both. I consider therapy an adventure. It will be challenging at times, but also bring insights, wonder, and joy. Along the way, I encourage play, delight, and humor. If therapy doesn’t feel good, we won’t want to keep going. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction, particularly among highly creative individuals. I also see couples, often those exploring nonmonogamy, or repairing infidelity. I don't have a map, but we'll face the unknown together. And as we tap into spontaneity, creativity and our connection, you will find your way.

Using exposure response prevention, mindfulness strategies, brainspotting, & an eclectic approach, we collaborate in discovering and empowering you to live a life where you may thrive.
Are you tired of worrying about the what ifs? What if you don't do or eat the "right" thing? What if the thing you fear most comes true? You've done everything the "right way" yet the what ifs and rules continue to change and the goals continue to move. You're left feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, irritable, lonely, or paralyzed with dread.

I utilize a neuroscience deep brain-based therapy called Brainspotting.
Are you frustrated by making the same mistakes over and over again? You know what you should be doing when it comes time to perform but when it comes time you don't know how to do? Perhaps you've suffered an injury or a concussion that has set you back or you've seen other traumatic injuries on the field. Are there moments you feel like you'll never get back on track? Do you suffer from the yips? In the therapy I do, athletes can beat performance anxiety, increase performance confidence, get out of a near depression, and better recover from injury and concussions.

My background as a film producer, trained in clinical counseling depth psychology, offers a range of treatment modalities including Brainspotting focused on getting to the underlying issues that perpetuate chronic cycles of pain.
Are you ready to break the painful cycles that keep you depressed, anxious, hopeless, addicted? Would you like to learn how to be alone and not feel lonely? Are you ready to leave the old story behind and realize your true potential - live the full embodied life you deserve? It takes great courage to break with ones' past story and stand alone, to learn to be reunited with yourself. Trauma lives in the body as wound. Through a client-centered, trauma focused somatic approach, as you become willing, we will take that journey together and tend those wounds that are the place where light can enter.

I am extensively trained in several trauma-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Anxious, depressed, or stuck? I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space for adults and adolescents of all religions, races, sexualities, and genders to process their life needs, wants, and fears. I provide psychotherapy within the context of a therapeutic working alliance; by first building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, one can then work towards tackling larger life goals. I work from a core belief that our minds and bodies are deeply connected. Treating the whole person, including the impact of stress on their physical body, is an important component to treating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and more.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
