I believe in all people’s innate capacity to heal. To me, all symptoms that we experience whether it be chronic pain, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc can be explained by trauma. Trauma does not have to be big events. Trauma can be if we are not attuned to emotionally as children or if our parents have their own unprocessed trauma—this sort of trauma often leads to deep seeded beliefs that we are unloveable and bad. Our healing comes from teaching our parts that we are loveable and accepted just as we are.

Psychotherapy is a partnership, shaped by the creative, dynamic working alliance that develops between patient and therapist. I am a clinical psychologist and board-certified psychoanalyst in practice for 40 years, employing both psychoanalytic-oriented therapy and cognitive- behavioral solution-based therapy. In addition, I have developed ARMM, the Applied Reframed Mindset Method. ARMM is a focused technique using tools designed to create a helpful mindset for improving physical health, emotional states, the relationship with self and others, and to achieve goals.

Do you sometimes feel disconnected, even in a room full of people? Are you sitting with feelings of not enoughness? Feeling unsatisfied with where you find yourself, or uncertain about where you're going? Does it feel like you're living your life on autopilot? Being human can feel really hard sometimes. You don't have to do it alone. I provide a warm space to help clients be with whatever is coming up. Through slow and gentle inquiry, we'll work together to bring awareness to the entirety of your experience - mind, body, and heart - so that you can show up in the world courageously and compassionately.

I love working with passionate, creative, and sensitive professionals, as well as young adults navigating difficult challenges. These unique individuals often experience sensory overload and overwhelm, and they seek ways to create more manageable and meaningful lives where their talents can truly shine. They aim to better understand and regulate their emotions, boost self-respect, set healthy boundaries, improve relationships, find balance, and cultivate a sense of purpose. They are looking for genuine self-care and aspire to build an authentic life that reflects their true strengths and dreams.

Intimacy doesn’t just happen, it requires effort. Grappling with unprocessed trauma or betrayal, living with addiction, or struggling with Anxiety or Depression, can hold back an individual from truly being available to themselves and others.

I work best with adults who are willing to work with me to make sense out of the pain and joys in their life.We work to understand how they get stuck or move forward, finding alternatives, and explore together what supports or hinders new solutions. Then we can work together to make peace with what can't be changed. In addition to talking together, I suggest a variety of practices for gaining perspective and managing anxiety and depression.

It takes a certain person to look for support, and I commend you on taking this first step. Life is challenging, and there are times when no matter how hard we try, things just don’t change. We often find ourselves spinning out of control feeling overwhelmed, scared, sad and tired… beyond tired, feeling alone, stuck and in pain, dealing with distressing thoughts, feelings and body symptoms. And the list goes on.

You've wondered if it's time to talk to someone. You want to strengthen and refine your skills to cope with what your life throws at you. You're ready to get at it... not around it, not under it -- through it. If you're ready to do the work to cope better, to build something better for yourself, then I invite you to begin by reaching out. In my clinical work, I've watched a broad spectrum of clients use their strengths to face what they have in front of them, and to improve how they cope with everyday stresses. Together, let's get started on something new for you.

Being in the world can often feel like a challenge. I work with individuals and couples who want to improve their relationships by gaining a greater sense understanding. I work with clients to develop their self knowledge and self worth so they can embrace their hopes and accept feelings of disappointment. The ability to self-reflect helps in moving toward a more satisfying future with a greater sense of compassion and tolerance for yourself and a greater openness toward others. The goal of the work is the creation of an emotionally safe home where acceptance and recognition can foster personal emotional growth and healing.

“Bridging is the work of opening the gate to the stranger, within and without.” – Gloria E. Anzaldúa. You’re at an inflection point. The ground has shifted; you find yourself on rocky terrain. The trail’s end is hazy, but you catch a glimpse: the outline of a hopeful future, somehow. Let us nurture those neglected pieces of yourself too oft ignored. With sincerity, compassion, and levity, I offer steady company on your voyage. You’ll discover bridges to yourself, your loved ones, and the goals that matter to you. The discourse shall be rich; the reflection, deep; the change, meaningful. You needn’t travel alone.

I practice a unique combination of counseling and hypnotherapy. My therapy is based on the notion that every person has the potential to be complete, happy and fulfilled. My goal is to help my clients realize this potential. In our therapy work we explore emotional, mental and personal levels: Emotional (reprocessing fears, traumas; old patterns); Mental (learning new behaviors, emotional skills); Personal (setting goals/purpose; building confidence, trust). My clients have an active role in their healing process. During the sessions I introduce new tools and strategies. In between the sessions clients apply and practice them.
