I am interested in the complex relationship between mind and body and seek to explore the intersection of these elements in the therapeutic process.
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family therapist and Board Certified Art Therapist. My approach to therapy is collaborative, direct and empathetic. I believe that change can only happen within the context of a safe space and trusting relationship, and therefore I emphasize creating a warm connection. My therapeutic work involves using self-compassion and mindfulness skills to increase your window of tolerance for difficult emotions and help you live authentically. If you are struggling with relationship or identity issues, processing traumatic experiences or exploring attachment wounds, I may be a good fit for you.

A consistently empathetic, validating, authentic relationship with a therapist you vibe with can be remarkably supportive.
Are you a deep-thinker who spends a lot of time in their head? Do you recognize overlapping systems of oppression impacting you daily? Do you live with depression, anxiety, or C-PTSD/development trauma? Perhaps you see yourself as a people-pleaser or intellectualizer or would like to know yourself better? You’re doing your best to take care of yourself and you deserve support from someone kind who gets it. If any of this vibes with you or you’re just looking to feel consistently supported by a kind, warm, therapist who shows up like a real, genuine person (tattoos, cursing, humor when appropriate, and all), I hope you’ll reach out!

My areas of expertise are: Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Separation Anxiety, Depression, educational problems, divorce, ADHD/ADD, executive dysfunction, school refusal, Defiant behavior, parent child relationship problems, and family therapy.
I have been a child therapist for the past 20 years, I provide therapy for children ages 0-18 years old. Modalities that I have found to be helpful when working with the younger population are the following; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also incorporate Family Therapy (Family Systems), where I support families in creating intimacy through none-judgmental communication. I assist parents through difficulties, and challenges of parenthood. I also work with adults/teens/children who are experiencing executive dysfunction symptoms or are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD.

Adulting is already hard enough; throw in infertility, postpartum depression/anxiety, pregnancy following loss (heIlo, anxiety!), loss/grief/bereavement, trauma, relationship/communication issues, boundaries and family conflict and now you've got discomfort, unpleasant feelings, disconnection and stress. While we may not be able to change all of the obstacles in your life, we can work collaboratively to adjust expectations, reinforce coping skills, strengthen resilience, improve communication skills, set boundaries, process trauma and elicit clarity and direction. (We are a boutique group Telehealth practice- warm & fuzzy).

I believe in the inherent worthiness of all human beings. Unfortunately, each of us likely have experiences in our lives that teach us that there is something wrong with who we at the core. Psychotherapy is a space for remembering and unearthing the self-love and gifts that each of us come into this life possessing. Through relating authentically, being compassionately curious with whatever arises, and developing a deeper relationship with the body’s intelligence, I hope to help my clients become more expressed in who they truly are, build lasting, meaningful relationships and connect more deeply to their purpose for being alive.

My approach to therapy is that it is about the relationship.
Welcome to my therapy practice. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works with individual adults, adolescents, couples, and families dealing with a variety of challenges. Over the years, I have primarily helped clients with their depression, anxiety or major life transitions. Sometimes it is just that you have a general sense that something is wrong, or out of balance, and you need a place to talk or you are concerned for a loved one. I am here to listen and provide you with insight so that over time, you will feel clearer with yourself.

Thank you for reviewing my profile. I work with individuals (adolescents and adults), couples, and families and have experience treating issues ranging from ADHD to occupational difficulties. I work especially with anxiety in all its forms, depression, and relationship challenges. My research has focused on attachment and social cognition, specifically in relation to anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. I have found that the therapeutic relationship, with its strong bond between the patient and an attuned therapist, is the most consistent and powerful mechanism of change.

Sometimes there are parts of ourselves, our desires, or our pasts that are difficult to share with others. This could be because of a lack of acceptance or support in your social world, and could be related to feelings of fear, shame, or disgust. I work with clients to build a relationship in which it is safe enough for clients to bring disowned parts of themselves into compassionate awareness as they develop a sense of wholeness. Throughout this deep internal work, I ask curious questions about environmental factors in order to support liberation from internalized oppression and self-blame.

Humans are relational beings and the therapeutic relationship is a wonderful space for profound healing.
You're welcome here. I know it can feel strange at first, but connecting with support via therapy might be just the thing to move you along in your growth and healing. It is so normal to come up against physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges in life and to sometimes feel stuck. Through intentional processing, healthy coping skills, and connection it is possible to feel lighter, to feel free, and to find the lotus in the mud. Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or stressed and notice this impacting your relationships, work, or ability to feel calm? Are you hoping to be a calm and connected parent to your child?

I provide a collaborative space where clients can learn to strengthen their relationship with themselves & critically examine narratives that may no longer be serving them.
Many arrive at therapy for a variety of reasons. As a clinician who specializes in establishing a supportive space for individuals to feel seen, heard, and acknowledged within the therapeutic relationship, I utilize my lived experience that developmentally impacted how I viewed the world as a young adult myself. Growing up within a tight-knit culture that (at times) limited my abilities to find my voice and step into my power in a way that felt most authentic to me, I excel at supporting individuals that are desiring to dismantle the roles they were given at a young age as they wrestle with learning who they want to be.

I understand the profound impact that sex addiction can have on your life and relationship.
Intimacy doesn’t just happen, it requires effort. Grappling with unprocessed trauma or betrayal, living with addiction, or struggling with Anxiety or Depression, can hold back an individual from truly being available to themselves and others.

The connection and relationship between client and therapist is crucial for healing to occur.
In a quiet, comfortable and cosy garden - like office location, I work with clients on life transitions, parenting when parenting becomes a tiresome task finding the gift to raising a child. I am a certified anger consultant and grief counselor working with those experiencing the many forms of loss. In addition, I work with the special needs population and their families, socialization training, teaching sexual boundaries and safe practices, while remembering the siblings of those families who often inadvertently get lost in the efforts made to the special person.

Kim is an integrated, relationship-based LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodiversity Affirming Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in treatment of anxiety and OCD-spectrum with kids, teens and adults and parenting kids with anxious emotions (SPACE and SPACE-FTL) as well as parents navigating systems around supporting a neurodiverse child.
One's experience with fear, stress, sadness or uncomfortable feelings in general can have major impacts on how we view ourselves and the world. However, when provided with therapeutic guidance, collaboration, skills training, education and support, I have learned that one can cultivate courage, growth and resilience that allows them to reengage in life in meaningful ways. The process of therapy is a collaborative one and I believe that the relationship we develop through our work together should aid in instilling hope and increasing motivation to tackle whatever challenges you face.
