I utilize Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) to provide you with practical tools.
Relationships can bring joy and stability, but when behaviors or emotions interfere, they can also cause deep pain. It’s difficult to feel trapped in a cycle of recurring arguments, unmet needs, or emotional distance. I help couples and individuals navigate impulsive behaviors, anxious attachment, anger, and unexpected life challenges. You don’t have to face your struggles alone. With the right support, you can build secure, connected relationships.

I treat trauma using EMDR and a somatic approach to healing.
People often hear about Complex PTSD and feel that they have finally the words to describe their emotional experience. Trauma comes in many forms and it remains in your body long after the traumatic events have occurred. I help clients learn to understand their past and learn to thrive in the present. I especially enjoy working with PTSD and C-PTSD, first responders, sexual assault survivors, Single Mothers by Choice (SMBC), women navigating infertility-related stress, and neurodivergent adults newly diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism

I specialize in and have proven experience healing trauma through EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work, honesty and humor.
Life can lead us down some pretty rough paths sometimes, leaving us feeling crazy, confused, and totally lost on what to do and where to go. You don't have to trudge through feeling like this forever. I work with individuals, couples, and teens who just need some relief - from single-incident and complex PTSD, negative beliefs, anxiety, panic, stress, relationship struggles, and other unresolved issues. Many of my clients are insightful, curious, growth-oriented people who are seeking something beyond the typical therapy approach to actually get to the root of their issue and change it - creating a new normal.

Currently, I am completing certification in attachment-focused EMDR.
I believe therapy is meant to be experimental, experiential, and collaborative. Carl Jung said, "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." Insights in therapy have the potential to be challenging and painful, and my job is to help you through them. A spirit of non-judgment, empathy, directness, and sense of humor defines my style. My goal is to assist clients in connecting to their authentic Selves, for the purpose of overcoming negative thinking, self-destructive patterns, and unfulfilling relationships.

My primary practice is in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)- which works by reprocessing old memories and wounds that keep you feeling stuck, anxious, and sad.
Anxiety, creative blocks, persistent sadness and worry, or unhealed/ unrecovered areas of your life- if you feel trapped by past situations that continue to affect you today, you're not alone. Even many people who've done some work in therapy or recovery programs before may wonder why they remain stuck in old patterns and beliefs. Real healing- a more balanced, dynamic, and joyful life- are all possible.

I specialize in treating anxiety, self esteem, and trauma in adults utilizing individual therapy and EMDR.
On the surface you have it “all together” but underneath are struggling with constant anxiety & self doubt. Despite being smart, driven, and incredibly hard working, life feels hard. No matter how much you do or accomplish, you never feel good enough. You always put others first and struggle to say no, even when overwhelmed. You want to heal from old wounds and break unhelpful patterns but you aren’t sure how.

In my nonjudgmental approach I combine "talk" therapy with art therapy, mindfulness, productivity/executive function coaching, and EMDR.
You may be struggling in a relationship, unsure about how to help yourself with stress or procrastination, or feeling instable during a life transition. Therapy is a wonderful opportunity for support, to grow insight, and make change. I have a passion for helping people who have educational and relational trauma due to neurodivergence. Its scary when you don't know why things aren't going your way. I have helped people understand their behaviors, feelings, and brain chemistry so they can be happier. We will focus on strengthening your mental well-being and helping you be true to yourself and the people you love.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
