I like to be real with people. I find the best way to work with individuals and couples is to be present, ask the right questions, and give honest feedback. Whether you are coming to therapy for personal growth, a relationship or family issue, healing from loss, past trauma, or anything else, I want to explore who you are, how your life experiences have affected you and your relationships, ways in which those experiences keep replaying themselves, and how to get you out of the cycle. My approach is to provide a comfortable and real space to talk, explore and work on feeling better.

Are you looking for a safe space to share your feelings; to better understand your emotional self? If you are experiencing relationship problems, feel stuck or blocked, anxious or depressed, we can work together to understand these issues. Sometimes we know that things don't feel right, but can't put our finger on it. Through guided exploration, we can discover underlying causes for these feelings, and develop a more authentic connection with ourselves and with others. I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents.

I work with those struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, boundary issues.
The therapeutic process is about becoming most fully ourselves. The more we come to know ourselves in an authentic and true way, the more fulfilling our lives and our relationships become. Change occurs when there is a new understanding, not just in our intellectual mind, but in our bodies and spirits as well. This kind of work, though difficult, and sometimes painful, is also deeply rewarding. It can also seem like a scary idea to some, not knowing if making lasting change is even possible.

I work with adults, children, and couples using a strengths-based approach that helps create insight, foster resilience, and alleviate suffering. I believe that healing happens in relationship, and strive to create a sense of safety in the therapeutic space through warmth, humor, curiosity, and collaboration. I bring an intersectional perspective to therapy, exploring with clients the nuanced interplay between culture, society and mental health. My practice is trauma-informed and honors the profound connection between body and mind, employing somatic techniques to deepen awareness of emotions and facilitate healing.

Integrating principles from psychodynamic theory, a somatic approach, as well as my training in EMDR, we delve into your personal history and examine trauma or emotionally disturbing experiences, including external influences such as systems, and explore how they have influenced our relationship with ourselves and others.
I am passionate about supporting folx who identify as first generation, third culture kids, are from multicultural backgrounds or have experiences of trauma. I deeply enjoy working with couples to explore how our past experiences inform challenges within our relationships and to explore how you can communicate emotions and needs to those we are in community with. I believe relational repair is an imperative aspect of our healing.

The relationship that you and I co-create is full of interpersonal information that we can use to change recurring patterns that are painful or self-defeating.
In my experience, psychotherapy can be a home for the doubts, questions, and dreams that may otherwise be relegated to the shadows. I see my role as an empathic companion as a well as an active guide who creates a safe base from which to walk on paths less trodden. The people that I work with often start this process with the sense that something is "off" or the fear that they are either "too much" or "not enough." And along the way, they gain clarity and compassion.

You have the ability to live a self determined life, free from the pain of your past. My approach to therapy is relationship driven, and rooted in helping you understand the way your attachment style and the different parts of your personality influence your relationships and behavior. We will work to understand how your past influences your present, and support new ways for you to respond to old triggers in a more self empowered way. I find I am especially good at supporting people who feel both "too much" and "not enough" at the same time. If that sounds like you, let's talk!

I will help you access more warmth and compassion in your interactions and come away with an awareness of what each of you needs to feel secure and nourished by your relationship.
We NEED each other. We are social creatures built for connection who thrive when we are in close relationships…AND being in relationship is no easy task! Particularly in a culture that tells us that we are not supposed to depend on each other. Our work will help you cultivate more meaningful connections that inspire vulnerability and intimacy, promote security and self-confidence, and build greater awareness of the fears and challenges of being in a relationship. I work with adult individuals and relationships at all stages, poly/alternative relationship formations, and am LGBTQIA+ affirming.

I provide individual, couples, and group therapy for conditions like anxiety and depression, among others, as well as communication and relationship skills.
I love those moments when a client has an “Aha Moment,” saying with raised awareness, “I’ve never thought about it that way before.” Perhaps this moment is in regard to helping heal an emotional wound or recognizing how to overcome a seemingly insurmountable barrier standing in the way of one’s goals. Sometimes clarifying what those goals are, discovering a path toward achieving them, then taking small/realistic steps to do so is what the therapeutic work is about. Healing emotional wounds and uncovering or remembering your strengths will help you clarify and possibly even reach your goals.

As a queer Filipino therapist, I believe that healing happens when we strengthen our relationship with ourselves and feel a sense of safety and connection with others.
You struggle with caring for yourself while taking care of others, pushing your needs to the side. You're overwhelmed, wondering how long you can keep up with being the one who "keeps it all together" even in the midst of loss and change. You want to share this but fear you'll be a burden and push others away. This leaves you feeling angry, exhausted, lonely, and stuck. These roles and cycles you find yourself in don't have to be permanent. It's possible to experience life where you feel more connected to yourself, your relationships, and your creativity—one where you can make decisions that are aligned with your values.

Whether you're entrenched in relationship issues, in the depths of grief, looking for respite from burnout, exhaustion, or the pandemic, using a holistic and integrative approach, we'll explore tools to move you forward.
I’m passionate about working with women seeking self love, self compassion, romantic love and love for others. I enjoy supporting people to nurture themselves, accept their value and that caring for and healing themselves is a political act of resistance and decolonization. I often work with First Gen women. Exploring what parents (from around the world) brought with them- traditions, practices, ways of thinking, maybe intergenerational trauma and focusing on healing. With some people we'll do a deep dive into what it feels like to be you. Seeking therapy is a strength, an act of courage, a journey inward, outward, and forward.

I work with individuals struggling with anxiety and mood disorders, relationship issues, self-esteem, life direction, trauma, and issues surrounding sex and/or gender.
Making meaningful changes in life can be challenging. We tend to stick to what’s familiar, sometimes leaving us stuck in places we no longer want to be. The path towards healing and growth can sometimes be overwhelming and confusing. I believe that often, the answer is already within us, but we may need guidance to view life through a new lens. I’d like to walk with you on your journey of expansion. I am here to help you access your potential and develop the tools you need to have more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
