I have been practicing therapy for over 25 years, so I have a great deal of experience with different kinds of problems/issues, and with different types of clients. Most of the people I see are adults, but I do occasionally see teenagers and children. Many of my clients are having issues with anxiety, depression, relationships, or just the everyday challenges of living. I am a Christian and specialize in Christian counseling, but also have many clients who are not Christians. I enjoy helping people and seeing them improve their lives.

Do you ever feel like something is missing? Like you were walking down your life path, took a few unexpected turns and landed somewhere so different from where you envisioned yourself to be? Or maybe you struggle finding your path. Perhaps there’s a fork in the road and you don’t know which way to go. This uncertainty and dissatisfaction can feel scary and overwhelming. How do we know if we’re making the “right” choice? What do we do if things don’t go the way we thought they would? How do we find our way back to the path we want to be on? Well, I’m here to help.

We all carry unique burdens of the mind, pains of our history, and cultural programming. It is true that we all experience suffering in one form or another as a natural part of life. It is also true that this suffering can be transformed and transcended. Through this transformation it is possible to experience a more connected relationship with the world within and around us. I am open to serve those experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic pain, and spiritual confusion. I am also open to serving those interested in cultivating meditation and other spiritual practices, and generally enhancing quality of life.

Personal discovery and growth is one of life's greatest challenges but also provides one of life's greatest rewards. Through my own healing journey to address childhood trauma, I did many years traditional talk therapy. While I found this to be helpful, it wasn’t until I discovered somatic experiencing (SE) therapy that I began to experience a deep settling in my body and mind in a relatively short period of time. This settling of the nervous system can lead to a newfound sense of feeling present and engaged in life. One gains more capacity to experience positive emotions, tolerate negative emotions without becoming overwhelmed.

Feeling understood, supported, and safe are key aspects of the therapeutic relationship. The process of therapy also includes developing and enhancing self understanding. Together, we can explore and understand difficult issues in your life and gain a deeper understanding of your situation. Through this process, we can begin to offer you new emotional experiences and provide you with skills to improve your relationships with others and yourself. In a safe setting with warmth and engagement, I provide an opportunity to gently navigate what is bothering you most.

I believe that with every new day, there is hope for change. Life brings us so many stressful situations. When you feel it is hard for you to bear the burden alone, I am here to help.
I love being a therapist. From our first meeting, you will be able to feel the enthusiasm I have for this work. And within a few sessions, you will likely begin to feel something you may not have felt in a long time...hope.

We all need extra support sometimes. Therapy can be a place to explore solutions to life problems and to know you are not alone. I strive to create an envirmonment that is safe and non-judgemental so that we can figure out together what needs to happen for you to feel happier and more fulfilled. Through my work, I have seen many people improve their lives and feel better about themselves. In sessions, we will focus on your current situation and explore your past to further understand what may be preventing you from living a happy and fulfilled life.

Welcome to my practice. I have been in practice since 2007 and have been featured on ABC, NBC, and KCAL as an expert psychologist. I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.
