I'm trained in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing and use these body-based practices to help you connect with yourself on a deeper level and build a self-loving relationship.
Gen-Z & Millennials, I understand the unique challenges you face being completely overcome by unruly and intense emotions. You're doing your best and still find yourself getting hijacked by your emotions, unable to express yourself and be how you want. You're tired of the self-doubt, circular arguments, panic, anger, and sadness that are holding you back. You're ready to know yourself in new, embodied and loving ways in order to feel in harmony with yourself and your life.

My intervention modalities include: cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused, EMDR, family systems, interpersonal, solution-focused, and attachment-based.
At time, life provides us with the opportunities that enable us to grow and accomplish. However, at times it also presents itself in the form of a challenge. These life events can take a toll on our mental health and leave us feeling hopeless, unmotivated, lost, and stuck. I am passionate and confident in my ability to make a difference in the life of my clients. Having been through many touch patches myself, I understand well the importance of regaining one's own sense of purpose, strength, and dignity. I have experiences working with both children and adults using individual and family therapy modalities.

Within the work, I incorporate EMDR to help lift any stuck stuff.
If you are Angry, Anxious, Depressed, People-Pleasing - Traumatized - and seeking a new and Holistic Approach, reach out. Life often puts us on paths we do not understand, cause us to get off track, and sometimes just does not feel right for us. If you are wanting to find Your Path, the one right for You, then you are Ideal for working with me. I seek complete healing for all clients, and do not want to take years or decades to be that help. I have been angry, anxious, depressed, and people-pleasing, due to small and big traumas, not always recognizable in life, and know what it is like. I have been like you. Peace, Kathy

I am trained and experienced in using EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work, as well as other trauma-based recovery models, to help clients heal from many different forms of trauma and wounding.
At different points in our lives, we may find ourselves navigating difficult waters. These periods are tender and sacred, and having the light and guidance of a therapist can be healing in many ways. I have a genuine interest in getting to know you and holding a warm, gentle, nonjudgmental space for you to explore yourself. I am curious about the identities you embody and how these identities intersect and dance within a larger context of family, community, culture, and social systems.

I am trained in EMDR and work to target trauma and how this may show up today in forms of anxiety, depression, stress, physical pain and difficulty in relationships with others and most importantly, with yourself.
Having experienced such a trauma like a world-wide pandemic, may have unearthed old wounds that may show up today as anxiety, distrust, depression, challenges in feeling fulfilled, suicidal thoughts, actions or feelings of dread for the world. Perhaps old childhood wounds are starting to become so loud, that ignoring them is becoming increasingly difficult, making it harder to focus, harder to recognize yourself and making it harder to finding purpose or direction in life. If this sounds anything like yourself, you are not alone and you have taken the small steps to finding relief by looking for a therapist.

I also utilize EMDR to process trauma and reinforce positive self-beliefs.
Life can feel impossible to avoid struggling and we often don't feel we have the skills to cope successfully through. Unfortunately, sometimes we don't have all the resources we need for a given situation. Parts of us take on desperate roles trying to help us to survive. This might look like anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, and relationship/family issues. I aim to help you process unresolved issues and feelings and find solutions.

I also provide EMDR therapy.
I always felt like I didn't get the memo on how to “do” life. As a nonbinary, Trans person from the Midwest who transitioned in their 40's, I've spent the better part of my adult life unlearning and resolving harmful messages and beliefs. You may think, "Do I need to be trans to have a trans therapist?" The answer is no. The benefit is that I come from a judgment free position, and a lot of varied life experiences. What you can expect is a safe, authentic, and sometimes silly space (with pop culture references) where we collaborate to find real relief, and solutions unique to you, and peace that lasts a lifetime.

I provide trauma-informed care, EMDR, CBT, CPT, and ACT.
Do you have trouble with anxiety, depression, and relationship/family issues due to trauma? Past experiences can create imprints onto your brain that activate your fight/flight responses whenever your emotions feel dysregulated, but life without the constant feeling of being on edge is possible. Those traumatic memories don’t have to permanently influence who you are meant to be. Through therapy, you will gain control of your feelings/thoughts and your response to everyday life hurdles. Healing from trauma can create healthier beliefs about yourself and your relationships along with sustainable changes.

I utilize psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT & DBT), somatic therapy, IFS, EMDR, and mindfulness.
I work with people who struggle with excessive worrying, overthinking, and restlessness, trauma, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, as well as those who generally just want to improve their lives. I work with many college age individuals, 20 somethings, and 30 somethings, who are exploring issues around identity, relationships, and "early life crisis." I work best with clients who are wanting to grow and are willing to look inward to develop a deeper, more profound sense of self.
