My experience includes helping those with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges.
Anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns are just a few of the challenges that threaten to overwhelm us. Unexpected loss, disappointing dreams, lonely relationships, and feelings of being less than or undeserving lead to questions like, “what am I doing wrong?” and “how did I get here?” Perhaps you feel like you’re doing everything right and it’s still not working. Carefully-controlled narratives mask messy, doubt-filled, anxiety-ridden moments. Maybe you even wonder, “Am I enough?”

I also utilize EMDR when working with those who have experienced trauma.
As a therapist, the heart of my work is to help you create healthy, more fulfilling relationships. Because we are relational beings, our lives are profoundly influenced by the quality of our relationships. At times, we may need to repair a broken relationship, let go of a harmful relationship, or manage a problematic relationship in a healthier way. I come alongside couples, families, and individuals to bring health and healing to relationships with key people in their lives - spouses, parents, children, friends, work colleagues, or even your relationship to yourself.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting, two of the best methods for healing trauma and PTSD; talk therapy, mindfulness, sand tray, and dream work.
Pema Chödrön wrote, "Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know." My therapeutic work is Depth Psychology-based, grounded in the knowledge that all emotional pain has a root source, and that to alleviate the symptoms, we must find that source and heal those old wounds. I treat trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, women's issues, codependence, grief & loss, stage of life issues, creativity, and LGBQIA and Transgender/Gender Non-Conforming issues. I work with transgender/NGC adults, and families.

Do you have a history of trauma or stressful life events? Are you feeling stuck, anxious, angry, or overwhelmed? Sometimes we struggle to be the type of employee, partner, or parent we hope to be. Many of my clients tell me they are having a hard time feeling safe, confident, calm and joyful in their life. They find themselves not fully present or able to enjoy the positive moments and connections in life. If you have been feeling this way, it could relate to trauma or life stress. If you have experienced grief, losses, or a traumatic experience, we can develop a coping plan and begin specialty therapies to help.

I have worked for almost 10 years in schools and community clinics and have experiences with suicidal ideation/self-harm, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, difficulties with self-esteem/confidence, and trauma.
Life sometimes gets to a point where we can't or don't want to do it alone anymore. It's too much, too heavy, too dark, too complicated... We need help. And that is not only okay, it is natural. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a non-judgmental, safe, and meaningful space to be able to process experiences and hurts that have created unhealthy patterns or negative inner messages. Doing this allows space for healing and growth while also learning how to see the person we want to be. My goals is to help each person make healthy changes that inspire a fuller, more connected, satisfying life experience.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
