Clients are typically feeling stuck and annoyed about falling into the same patterns when they come in to see me. Together, we will look at the ways you've tried to address your issues, and how those attempts are usually counterproductive. In session, we will work on increasing your brain's flexibility to create sustainable change within your relationship with yourself and with others. I'm passionate about working with college students and young adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, and people pleasing.

I work from a sex positive lens, and work with all relationship configurations including working with consensual non-monogamy, kink/BDSM, and LGBTQ+ communities.
Welcome! I work with couples and polycules looking to deepen their understanding of one another, improve trust, communication and intimacy. As a neurodivergent therapist, I enjoy working with mixed-neurotype relationships (where one or more partners identifies as ADHD, autistic, PDA / demand avoidant, or OCD). I support my clients in better understanding the ways their neurotype, past trauma and attachment affect communication and the patterns and cycles within their relationship. I help create a safe space where both partners can show up as their full selves and heal together creating lasting change.

We are a collective of mental health professionals who all share a deep desire to heal the suffering of the world, one human, or one relationship at a time.
Just being human can be hard, and with all that is expected of us in this life, it can seem almost impossible at times. The external world can feel overwhelming and unsafe and our internal world can feel chaotic and just as unsafe. At the heart of any therapeutic approach is the attempt to find peace within so we can learn to be at peace with what is beyond our control. At Balanced Life Therapy Center, our clinicians are trained, each in their own preferred approach to healing, to support the inner world of their clients and help them get connected to the power they hold to move towards the life they desire.

Few people have been given effective tools to change their mood, build a positive mind set, or promote a harmonious relationship.
Are you weary of waking up feeling unmotivated, hopeless or anxious? Or perhaps you find your relationships are preventing you from leading the life you want to live. All three of these challenges - depression, anxiety and unfulfilling relationships - are treatable. Applying new strategies and well-placed effort can lead to accomplishing goals and creating a happier life.

The relationship roller coaster ride is a ride none of us enjoy. If your relationship is filled with tension, distress, or conflict it can leave you feeling alone, overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed. In fact, there are few things in life more painful than an important relationship that is stuck in a negative pattern of disconnection. You need someone who can help you find your way from the pain of disconnection to the safety and comfort of security, closeness, and connection. That person needs to understand you and be warm, compassionate, and relational.

I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to explore their current challenges in an effort to see what is, and is not, working for them. I am passionate about helping clients to identify their growth goals and being a partner for attaining lasting change. Whether the changes need to occur within their mindset, behaviors or personal/ relationship boundaries- I am here to help. Clients often have an area of focus in mind when they start therapy, and we often find that this one area affects many others in their lives. Once this focus is addressed, clients often find that the positive changes they are making have widespread effects.

My passion is to help people find that moment in their lives when they can truly love themselves and tap into their internal strength. I didn't always have that, and I know how hard it is to find. I also recognize that I couldn't have achieved happiness on my own. I would love to be a part of your support network as you move forward in your journey towards happiness. I specialize in military life, veterans, domestic violence, child abuse, relationship work and parenting. This comes from education that I have received and life experiences.

Learn to confidently show up as your full self & have the same level of success you have in other parts of your life, in your relationship too.
I specialize in working with black women who have checked many of the boxes in life but are having challenges in their relationship. One day it’s all good and the next week it's all bad. You argue all the time and feel the relationship could be fixed if you just knew what to do and what to say. Anytime you want to communicate, it just ends with more arguing. Even though you’re constantly explaining yourself, you’re not being heard. You feel alone, isolated…like you can’t talk to anyone about what’s going on. And sharing your experience with family or friends means being judged and receiving unhelpful advice to "just leave!"

Attachment struggles, the avoider, the chaser, regardless of what you call it, it sucks. You're both tired, stressed, and fighting all the time. It is the same loop. How did it get this bad? You just want feel calmer and like you and your partner on the same page again. You are tired of "pretending" to have it all together. Both of you have overcome a lot. Stressful childhoods and now navigating the adult world. But you have told yourself "we shouldn't be fighting like this." Whether it's just you or both of you in therapy, it is time to unpack the stuff that is holding your relationship back.

I see the therapeutic relationship as one of the most powerful agents of change.
If you have made it this far, chances are you are seeking something you haven’t yet found. You may just want someone to talk to or hold space for you. You may be hoping to explore and discover more about yourself, and utilize therapy to work through your barriers to growth and healing. I would be honored to be a part of your journey. I believe that therapy should be a safe space for folks to process, and is a collaborative effort between client and therapist. You may not feel it in this moment, but you are the expert of your experience.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
