I often use spirituality to address issues and struggles. I see it as an inward journey to explore who we are, finding our authentic selves, and the ability to connect with the real self. I feel my medical background helps to understand mental health scientifically while addressing mood, personality, and thinking disorders including family conflicts.

I practice from an eclectic approach, always considering you, my client, and what your very unique and individual needs and preferences are. I often employ evidence-based therapies that include Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as Psychodynamic exploration. I also very much uphold the belief that our mind and body are not separate entities and treat the whole individual that you truly are — always seeking to help you practice healthy self-care routines.

I have worked extensively with children in a school setting, with an emphasis on ADHD & executive functioning.
I am a clinical psychotherapist with a Jungian orientation. I work well with intuitive, feeling, creative types; high functioning individuals who can present really well, and whose problems aren’t very apparent to others. I treat anxiety and depression; both long-term conditions and new unexpected episodes due to stage of life transitions and life stressors. (eg Covid related, relationships, job loss, co-occuring medical conditions). I have treated addiction and substance use issues in both residential and intensive outpatient settings. I also work as an educator & mental health consultant (see: parent consultation for child).

Areas of focus: ADHD/ADD/neurodiversity, life transitions, relationships.
Are you here because you feel called? Perhaps you’re looking to explore unlived potential, let go of patterns that no longer work, or process something that’s been on your mind for as long as you can remember. At the same time, you may feel stuck, anxious, ambivalent, or even resistant. Answering the call to live an examined life is a courageous act. Further, neuroscience has proven we all have the capacity for change, regardless of age. I’m here to act as a guide and accompany you on your journey; to listen deeply, to hold space for you, and to ask meaningful questions that empower you to awaken and embody your own inner healer.

I have a unique combination of professional and personal experience for people who need guidance walking through anxiety, depression, spiritual abuse recovery, codependency, trauma, low self-esteem, ADHD, grief and loss, life transitions, and adoption.
I am passionate about helping people find their own unique fingerprints God has created them with. Throughout life, we develop and collect negative messages about ourselves that get in the way of us walking in true freedom. My purpose is to help people uncover the hidden beliefs that keep them feeling stuck in life and overcome barriers that prevent them from experiencing thriving relationships.

As a neurodivergent, queer, and disabled therapist, I know what it is like to not see yourself in your therapist. I'm a therapist with ADHD- I'm going to understand the grief you feel when talking about your past and how different it would have been if the world was built with neurodiverse people in mind. I'm a therapist with chronic illness- I'll understand how flares, injustice, and medical trauma effects your brain and your inner world. This world was not made for us in mind, but my counseling space was. Welcome!

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
