Let's just put it out there: Livin’ ain’t easy! You’re dealing with the pressures of high performance, anxieties of what others think, the injustice of /phobias and /isms, fears of failure, and paralysis in starting that project/hobby/career you always dreamed of. You’re feeling flat in your relationships and wondering, Is this it? These experiences are all part of what it means to exist and be human. The thing is, we can’t navigate them alone. As relational beings, we need compassionate guidance to see us through the other side of possibility. Despite rugged individualism, it's brave of you to be here. Welcome.

We understand that it is difficult to find a therapist you can actually connect to - someone who is both effective and human. That is why our therapists strive for this balance, providing authentic and effective therapy. We work collaboratively with people to detail their future hopes and honor the histories that inform their current experiences and relationships. Our goal is to not only effectively reduce symptoms, but also to facilitate the creation of a strong relationship with yourself and your inner world. Therapy can be a transformative experience when it is co-created and tailored to each individual, couple, or family.

Anxious, depressed, or stuck? I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space for adults and adolescents of all religions, races, sexualities, and genders to process their life needs, wants, and fears. I provide psychotherapy within the context of a therapeutic working alliance; by first building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, one can then work towards tackling larger life goals. I work from a core belief that our minds and bodies are deeply connected. Treating the whole person, including the impact of stress on their physical body, is an important component to treating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and more.

It is in our nature to live our lives through stories. Often our stories can become overshadowed by the effects of problems in our lives. Integrate /ˈin(t)əˌɡrāt/: to become whole Modern day life is not for the faint of heart. Thinking clearly and finding sustainable peace and harmony often seems impossible. This often leads to anxiety, depression, decreased self worth, increased self criticism, loneliness and addiction and feeling stuck. Many times we are left with a feeling of being fragmented and broken and needing to be “fixed”. At Integrate, we have the unwavering belief that we are already whole. We believe that every person has profound “inner healing intelligence” that can be cultivated to help a person heal, thrive and connect.

Carl Rogers once said, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" meaning once someone can sense that a relationship is safe, the opportunities for self-exploration and change appear. I believe that once a person is truly seen, it is then that they can blossom into their truest self. My approach with each session is a warm, curious, and open attitude in the hopes that, ultimately, you arrive at a place of self-understanding and peace. I am direct but kind, and offer you alternative ways of viewing difficult situations in your life.

There is significant strength in seeking support and guidance when you need it. My clients are often those who reach a point of feeling lost or overwhelmed and understandably cannot move forward on their own. They might feel disconnected from themselves, feel stuck due to past experiences, or recognize that the way they are living their life does not align with what truly makes them happy.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
