I am extensively trained in several trauma-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Anxious, depressed, or stuck? I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space for adults and adolescents of all religions, races, sexualities, and genders to process their life needs, wants, and fears. I provide psychotherapy within the context of a therapeutic working alliance; by first building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, one can then work towards tackling larger life goals. I work from a core belief that our minds and bodies are deeply connected. Treating the whole person, including the impact of stress on their physical body, is an important component to treating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and more.

Are you struggling with worry or sadness related to painful patterns in your relationships? Do you feel that you are constantly striving for "better" and "more" in most aspects of your life, but often feel unworthy or not enough? Do you find that people pleasing depletes you and leaves you feeling burnt out? Many of these patterns are examples of relational coping styles that we adopted in early childhood as a way of adapting to the needs or demands of our family systems. These coping skills were helpful when we were children, but usually become frustrating stuck points in adulthood.

I use somatic and brain based experiential methods, such as AEDP, brainspotting, and the therapeutic reconsolidation process to help you finally let go of feelings, behaviors, and limiting beliefs getting in your way.
I can help you get to the root of overthinking, doubting yourself, anxiety, sadness, and being stuck repeating the same past issues and patterns and transform it so you can finally get past it and move forward. Or if you're in a transition or going through a tough time and not sure what to do or how to cope, I can help you learn how to change what you have influence over and cope with what you don't so you can get unstuck, feel better, confident, and live the life you want.

I draw from a variety of approaches, including depth psychology (Jungian and Archetypal), somatic work (listening to our body), mindfulness, Brainspotting, and philosophical/spiritual traditions, to help you connect with this inner wisdom.
Frustrating and painful experiences in life often stem from unexpressed parts of us that remain largely unconscious. You may feel stuck in patterns of bad relationships, unfulfilling careers, loss of identity or meaning in life, even when you know you want to break free. Challenges or life transitions may disrupt your life, awakening awareness of problematic patterns and pain from the past. Perhaps you question your purpose or feel defined by your roles, longing to rediscover your hidden potential. What are you missing out on in your life from not knowing all that you really are?

We will most likely use a blend of EMDR, Brainspotting, narrative therapy, somatic work, and IFS/"parts work" to examine, untangle, and explore.
Welcome! Maybe you've found yourself here because you need help untangling something. Maybe you're carrying longstanding burdens; maybe those burdens aren't even yours to hold. If you are seeking holistic, intersectional, emotion focused, justice-oriented therapy, I'm here to assist you! I provide trauma and self-exploration therapy to adults, couples, and teenagers in a dynamic, compassionate container. I aim to instill self-understanding in my clients, and empower them to grow in places they've historically had to shrink.

Most people need help at various times in their lives navigating difficult experiences. My approach is collaborative, action-oriented and positive with individuals and couples. When relevant, I incorporate somatic (body) approaches, including EMDR and Brainspotting modalities to working with anxiety, phobias, trauma and other issues. My practice also includes the option of "walking and talking" outdoors. I am influenced by IFS / IFIO (parts work), self-compassion, feminist, and polyvagal approaches. I help clients connect more deeply with the past and address barriers to well-being in the present.

While I utilize talk therapy, I believe that therapy is an ideal place to slow down to notice feelings, sensations, thoughts, and to integrate somatic work, Attachment focused-EMDR &/or Brainspotting.
I don't know what brings you, but I know that it can take a lot of courage to reach out for support. Therapy is a powerful statement to yourself that you, your relationship and your family matters. The heart of my work revolves around assisting you in the journey of your choosing. Often I am supporting people who are interested in uncovering and unlearning painful negative beliefs about themselves. So often we have internalized a harmful message early in life -I'm bad. I'm not good enough. My needs don't matter. Together we can process the events that led to those beliefs and find the self-love and compassion to heal.

I also utilize Brainspotting to address trauma stored in the nervous system, which can create an immediate shift in conscious experience.
Being alive is a constant process of evolution and transformation, sometimes seemingly occurring without our input. Together, we can identify sources of meaning and connection, process traumatic experiences, and address harmful patterns to allow you to engage with life more fully. Every person is unique, and the therapeutic encounter is a deeply connected experience. I work well with people who are navigating their identity and how it can be expressed in the world, processing early childhood wounds, struggling with religious trauma, understanding neurodivergence, and working through grief and loss.

I am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting and a somatic modality the Trauma Resiliency Model, that can help balance the nervous system.
My clients are often survivors of trauma, women, and queer people that are curious about how their experiences have impacted them and come to me to help regulate their nervous systems and begin to accept and heal all parts of themselves. I enjoy working with relationship issues, gender, sexuality, identity, and helping folks restore wholeness after surviving traumatic and upsetting experiences, particularly narcissistic abuse or emotionally immature caregivers. In our work together, we will consider how your nervous system has been impacted by your life experiences and help you move into a space of deeper regulation and self love.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
