Therapy is a daunting exercise, and it takes patience and commitment, as well as trust, in order for things in life to get better. It also takes being able to talk freely with another to make the most rapid progress, as a feeling of being understood is necessary to succeed. All of these I can provide as we explore your desires and make solid plans for things to be different than they are now.

As psychologist, I try to approach you as a whole person in all your psychological and spiritual needs. If you have problems in living, may they be caused by mental illness or extreme stress; together, we will find solutions. I teach you to listen to yourself and use your resources to deal with the difficulties you encounter: like stress, loss, anxiety, worries, depression or hopelessness, and the psychological consequences of medical illness and disabilities. I believe that there is meaning in every life, that there is a worthwhile goal for everyone and that you can find it.

The issue we all struggle with is how to remain present when our minds constantly are driven to anticipate and control an unmanageable future and keep a tight grip on an unbearable past (so that we are not overcome by it). When this dilemma becomes too much we lose trust, faith, and the use of intuition and begin to operate on fear, shame, and anger. This pattern is altered through someone making a “leap of faith” and trusting that someone can understand and see things through their eyes. This is what I consider to be the heart of my work and it typically means that change is happening before any other “intervention”.
