Therapists in Fresno, CA
I have been a licensed clinician since 1997. I have lots of experience with others’ crises and trauma as I have had my own and was helped so graciously in the 1980s by a wonderful L.C.S.W. who worked for Kaiser. I was so grateful for her approach and kindness and ability to help me through my difficulties at the time. I went right to Cal State Long Beach to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in social work a BSW completed in 1990 and then onto graduate school to obtain an MSW in 1993. My approach is similar to my therapist’s one that helped me.

Every client is unique and should be helped in a manner that fits and works for their individual needs. Therapy is a collaborative endeavor, one built out of mutual respect and nonjudgments. I am not "better" than the clients I help, I simply have more exposure to a specific knowledge set and can provide tools that can be valuable in helping to improve their lives.

My motivation for working with clients stems from a strong belief in everyone’s ability to create fulfilling lives and healthy connections with themselves and others. As a therapist, I’ve gained insight, compassion, and skills to support clients in their journeys toward behavioral health, personal growth, and healing. I tailor my approach to each client, drawing from trauma-informed methods, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic insights, and family systems approaches. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, or distress, my therapy may be beneficial.

My ideal client is someone who feels trapped by their emotional struggles and is seeking a way to break free from the patterns that hold them back. They may be dealing with anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, and they have reached a point where they recognize the need for change but feel unsure about how to achieve it. Their main issue is a disconnection from their true self, which manifests in feelings of being stuck, unfulfilled, and overwhelmed by their internal conflicts. I also work with couples who are facing relational challenges and are looking to reconnect and build a healthier, more fulfilling partnership.

We all can feel a little overwhelmed and often times we need more than our friends and family to talk to. At times, having someone to provide a non-judgmental safe listening space that promotes self-reflection, psychoeducation, and a growth mindset is incredibly empowering. I specialize in healing relationships with self and others, whether they are painful, confusing, or just plain unsatisfying. I'll help you learn to manage those difficult emotions and confusing situations so that you can move through those life transitions and issues with a greater sense of confidence and ease.

While therapy can be about modifying behaviors and eliminating self-defeating beliefs, it’s also about finding, nurturing, and creating a space for you to become the person you aspire to be.

I am honored to be a therapist because I am constantly reminded of the strength and beauty of humanity. I witness my clients practice the art of healing through the ups and downs with compassion. I love working with clients not only on thoughts, feelings, behaviors, patterns, and symptoms but also somatically. Working holistically, including all of you in sessions: mind, body, and even spirit is a passion of mine but of course not a requirement. Above all else, my sole intention is to empower you on your healing journey, so please, come as you are!

Hello! I am grateful you are spending time to find support and move towards change/ in what you want in life. I believe people have the ability to be attuned with themselves emotionally. It is when we are able to connect with ourselves deeply that we can lean in and pay attention to our body’s signals. Learning to be attuned with our body is not a natural process and in doing so we can learn to live a more attuned life. I am extremely passionate about helping individuals with finding ways to grow and coming alongside them to get there.

I have a strong sense of compassion and empathy for adults and teens struggling with depression, anxiety, difficulty controlling their emotions, self-harm, and thoughts of suicide. We all need a safe place where we can talk about our feelings, free of judgement, with someone we trust. While loved ones and parents may provide this also, therapists can offer a unique perspective which can assist people with developing the skills, strengths, and self-esteem to continue their lives with confidence. The world can be a frightening place, but each person has potential to thrive under the right conditions.

Navigating your daily life may be hard and you may feel like you do not have the skills to cope in your daily life. I believe coming to therapy should offer relief from your overwhelming feelings or behaviors, by enhancing your natural abilities to manage these things and by teaching effective coping strategies. I utilize a collective approach focusing on your situation and what you need. I believe in a therapeutic environment that involves warmth, non-judgmental care, and openness to growth and change no matter what approach or counseling theory I am applying.

Every person has their own reasons for seeking therapy. Some choose it during a period of major life transitions or hardships, while others may seek out therapy in order to deepen their understanding of themselves. By using a psychodynamic and object relations model I am able to consider the whole person rather than pure symptom reduction. I believe there is both conscious and unconscious meaning to symptoms.
