I believe that love is a verb, conflict can be made constructive, and that roles define relationship expectations.
I believe that it takes courage and wisdom to ask for help. Giving yourself the time and space to work things through is a gift to yourself and your relationships. Therapy is also a partnership for growth. I work with individuals, couples, families to help them achieve healthier relationships and to add more meaning and purpose to their lives. We live in an era of change. People often need help to move through transitions, cope with their anxieties, and work their way through depression. I like to help clients build emotional stamina, clearer thinking, value intuition, and make heart-connections. Currently I am only doing Telehealth

I work with adults, children, couples, and families.
Life is challenging. People are complex. Mind, body, behavior, spirt, and relationships are all connected and so effect each other. When part of us grows, other parts grow as well. When part of us is hurt, other parts hurt as well.

I offer many modalities of therapy and I have worked with all age groups from children/adolescence, adults, geriatric, groups, and couples as well.
I believe that the power of vulnerability is one of our greatest strengths and ultimately can provide us with a deeper sense of self, security, comfort, and more compassionate towards one another. Coming from a strength-based form of doing therapy and providing support to others, I work to provide my clients with a sense of validation and comfort. As a cis male that identifies as Latinx and as a proud member of the LGBTQIA community, I am able to hold the experience of living in many diverse, cross-cultural emotional experiences that we sometimes may not even know how to begin to understand.

But if you are feeling overwhelmed by the problems facing you now, the professional help of a compassionate psychotherapist might be just the support you need to find the solutions that work for you, your partner, and your family.
Psychotherapy deals with those issues close to the human heart: what we love, what we hate, what we fear, what we hope for. It might seem that such things would be obvious to everyone, but it can be surprisingly hard to understand not only what we want but why we want it. That's where a good therapist comes in, one who is trained and objective, but equally important, one who is compassionate and respectful. I can help you work through issues and difficulties that might otherwise seem insurmountable.

I believe that providing a non-judgmental, genuine connection is crucial in working toward creating an authentic relationship with others.
I specialize in guiding individuals through their journeys of healing and self-discovery with a focus on the mind-body-spirit connection. My work is rooted in the belief that true transformation involves more than just addressing thoughts and feelings; it requires an exploration of the whole self.

Therapy is often a place we go to when we desire a change. Whether that be a change within ourselves, a relationship, a life stressor, or a family, change is difficult and, more often than not, uncomfortable.

Life is hard. Keeping up with everything that’s going on around us can sometimes make it difficult for us to recognize and deal with what is going on within us. Perhaps you are struggling to manage stress, navigate relationships (with partners, family members, friends, coworkers, etc.), or adjust to changing life circumstances. Or maybe you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and looking for a change.

You've been trying to live up to cultural, social, & others’ expectations. Caught up in the “shoulds,” you have overextended yourself to the point of burnout. Maybe you want to explore your sexuality & gender identity but shame gets in the way because these topics have been considered taboo. You find it difficult to set boundaries & navigate enmeshed family structures. You often feel like an actor in your own life, performing & wearing masks just to get by. This can be so draining & express itself as anxiety, depression, & avoidance. You don’t have to do this alone!

I am passionate about helping others. My role as a therapist is to help my clients make progress toward meeting their goals in therapy. Counseling should be a positive and productive process in which the client works closely with the therapist to learn and grow through self exploration.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
