The inner conflict we experience corresponds with the degree to which we are aware or unaware of the deeper parts of ourselves. I believe that everyone in their authenticity is whole, and the challenge of life is to connect with your wholeness. Therapy is the process of learning how to integrate the different parts of ourselves – our emotions, ideas, beliefs, identities, into a healthy unified experience of life. In other words, we can learn to live authentically when we stop denying, rejecting, or avoiding any part of ourselves, even when we feel uncomfortable.

All the thoughts you’ve never said out loud have been weighing you down. You put pressure on yourself to perform perfectly all the time, so much so that you think no one knows who you really are or how you really feel. Yet, you don’t know when it’s safe to let your walls down or let people in because being seen can feel scary and vulnerable. You give so much to others without giving to yourself or getting much in return. You’re willing to put your relationship with yourself first so that you can walk in the world more authentically.
