Hello and welcome to my page. I bring 20 years of experience supporting children (ages 3-18) and families throughout varying stages of development and changes in life circumstances. While there is a multitude of reasons why families seek support, I may be most helpful to those facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, adjustment-related stress, chronic illness, and relationship challenges. My education includes earning a BA and BS from UC Berkeley and MA and PsyD from Pepperdine University. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

I have been a therapist for 35 years working in non-profits, managed care, and private practice. My current work is couples therapy utilizing a relationship focused, resolution based approach. I have experience in working with anxiety/depression; trauma; ADHD; eating disorders; and family therapy. I am a Social Work Professor at Sacramento State Univ. I conduct workshops nationwide/internationally. I serve as the Clinical Director of the Gender Health Center, an agency serving the transgendercommunity. I have worked with hunderds of transgender youth and their families. I teach for the Vancouver School for Narrative Therapy.

I have been a psychologist and neuropsychologist since 2010 and have emphasized assessment and evaluation throughout my career. Additionally, I have been a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) in the workers’ compensation system since 2015. I provide psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for individuals between the ages of 7 and 90 through private insurances, workers' compensation, or out-of-pocket. I also offer pre-surgical psychological clearances for gastric bypass surgeries, spinal cord stimulators, and peripheral nerve stimulators.

I meet with clients at my offices in Elk Grove and Gold River. I specialize in couples, singles and individual counseling of adults. I address issues from trauma & abuse recovery to relationships to anxiety, depression, grief and loss. A key resource in recovery from traumatic events involves strengthening our ability to attach to ourselves and others in a way that soothes and calms our nervous systems and grounds us, based on the latest neurological research and evidence-based techniques. This therapy can be much more effective and require a shorter duration of treatment than traditional talk therapy.

Dr. Sabina Grosse is a Psychologist in California who has been practicing since 2008. Before she became a Psychologist she had a long career in the medical field, mostly in nursing. She finished her doctoral studies with a year of post-doc psychopharmacology and incorporates consulting with psychiatrists and other physicians into her practice. Dr. Grosse's patients tell her they always feel heard and understood with never any judgment. She uses different treatment styles depending on the client's need and the presenting problem.
