Hai's Neuro Cognitive Therapy is a proprietary treatment developed as the result of years of practice and study.
Dr. Daniel Hai is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist who combines the latest research with the knowledge he has gained in his years of practice and lifelong study of both western and eastern psychotherapy treatments. His practice incorporates a humanistic approach that recognizes the uniqueness of each individual. Custom assessments and treatment plans are one way this approach is evident in his practice. Instead of treating a diagnosis, Dr. Hai’s treatment plans consider the whole person from a holistic view that seeks to identify and resolve the root of the problem rather than just treat symptoms.

I utilize evidenced-based treatments including Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) to treat a variety of mental health issues.
Life can feel like a roller coaster ride, with many ups and downs. When we have healthy coping skills and a strong support system of loved ones to rely on, we can navigate through difficult times and regain a sense of balance. However, sometimes the coping skills or support system that we once relied upon become ineffective or unavailable. Stress triggered by issues such as life transitions, grief, trauma and financial strain can cause us to feel vulnerable and out of control. If you are struggling, rest assured that you are not alone. I am confident that I can help.

I believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment by providing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and a genuine approach in the treatment process. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities in order to meet each individuals unique needs. During my work in the past 14 years, I have been trained to treat trauma, anxiety, depression, relational/intimacy issues, and grief. I also integrate mindfulness meditation, CBT, healthy living practices and family systems techniques as a strategy to facilitate growth, healing, and balance. When we are able to rise out of our suffering, we can then begin the process of self-awakening.

My theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic and interpersonal, with the use of cognitive-behavioral strategies when appropriate.
Clients bring a wide range of concerns to my office. They experience problems with addiction, depression, loss, grief, stress, relationship problems & family dynamics. Many of my clients are high achieving people struggling w/ a problem. I draw upon my clients' strengths to assist them with making meaningful changes that make a difference in their lives. Because medication combined with psychotherapy is sometimes necessary, I'm available for confidential consultation with your physician or psychiatrist. If you don't have one who can prescribe medication for you, I can provide you with referrals for an evaluation w/ a psychiatrist

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.
When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.
How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.
Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
