Between myself and my terrific (doctoral) associates we see a variety of ages and help patients with many issues such as: depression, anxiety, ADHD, life stress, grief/loss, trauma, infertility, & adjustment issues.
I have been helping patients deal with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, infertility, grief, and adjustment issues for 30 years. I really enjoy seeing a patient improve their coping skills and thereby improve their life. Most of my new patients say that I put them at ease and they are very comfortable with me.

If you long for a safe space where your emotions are acknowledged and accepted, you are looking in the right place. I want to help you prioritize your mental health, and restore your inner peace. You may desire to uncover the unconscious patterns that prevent you from forming, or maintaining healthy relationships. Or maybe you just feel depleted and need help managing your stress. I approach therapy with humility and curiosity, and see you as the true expert in your own life. As we delve into whatever is interfering with your happiness, you will discover that therapy can open your mind and offer much more than a label or diagnosis

There is a solution. There is hope. And there is healing. Anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disruption in relationships, substance abuse, and on and on. These are curable, changeable, healable issues. When you go straight to the root of the issue, you can bring deep, lasting change. And we now know that the root of every mental health disorder (and many physical diseases as well) is some form of unresolved trauma. Trauma refers to any moment in our lives that we were unsafe in some way. Big or small, single events or years-long patterns-if we aren't able to process it, we store it.

I treat individuals, couples and adolescents. I specialize in couple therapy and work on issues of communication, affairs, intimacy, relationship building and divorce transition. People often believe that they are more independent than they truly are on others, less connected and affected by the people in their lives. However, research shows the opposite. It also helps to learn about our emotions. Emotions often are automatic especially when anxiety and stress is high. My work looks at affective neuroscience which integrates the scientific research of brain function and emotions that drive behavior, focus and our relationships with others."

When life gets difficult, talk often isn't enough. With creative strategies, compassionate support, and cutting-edge tools, you can get past your past, feel more connected, and experience confidence, clarity, and joy. I am fascinated by the latest evidence on how we can bring about lasting change. I listen intently & share my thoughts. We'll get to the heart of the matter and connect the dots. Sure, we will talk. But we will do much more. Many find that talking to a therapist may produce some results, but that gains are often temporary. I specialize in approaches specifically geared toward deep and long-lasting change.

Self-exploration continues throughout our lives. Our efforts to find peace and self-fulfillment can be accomplished through introspection and processing. I employ a variety of therapy modalities that assist with the exploration process in a manner that feels comfortable and safe, leading to those moments of understanding and acceptance. Art and EMDR Therapy combined can assist with reaching a deeper level of self-awareness in a non-threatening manner, and also allows for reprocessing recent and past traumatic experiences. With a willingness towards self-awareness, both modalities can be utilized to achieve ideal adjustment.

Since 2016, I have worked with a variety of populations in different clinical settings. Through my diverse experiences, I have come to appreciate the many backgrounds, stories and struggles that each client brings to therapy. My integrative approach values that therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” process. I am committed to understanding who you are, how you got here and where you want to be, so that I can tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs. I creatively integrate various treatment modalities including client-centered, mindfulness, IFS, and attachment-based therapy.

You have read self help books, followed therapist Instagram accounts, or listened to mental health podcasts, but you still feel like something is missing. You feel triggered by your friends, family, or partner and it is impacting your relationships. You have a million people asking you to do different things and juggle many hats, but you want to be seen and heard more. You may find it hard to keep your cool with your kids or are struggling with the transition during pregnancy or as a new mom. It's overwhelming. You feel like you are alone even when you are around others.

I see individuals, couples and children and treat a wide range of issues such as relational problems, self-sabotage, pregnancy and post-partum difficulties, and parenting challenges. I use a psychodynamic perspective, working with my clients in a collaborative and insightful process. Problems are understood within a context of past interpersonal experiences which often help provide understanding to the client's current situation. I am also well prepared to help clients of faith effectively integrate spiritual convictions and concerns with psychological understandings and emotional health.

Infertility Therapists

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?

Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?

The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?

Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?

There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
